THey come for a better life--yes.

If they come legally and are self supporting--great.

If they come illegally--they are criminals who have entered at my expense and the expense of EVERY U.S. taxpayer.

i'm not aware of any problem with immigrants coming to this country. they complete the proper paperwork wait until they get the ok then they come to this country. i have a number of friends who are immigrants and know of the struggle they went through to get here. we are in agreement that anyone who comes to this country should abide by our immigration laws and do so legally. so let's see here are all the groups who think it's a bad idea to come here illegally. U.S, born citizens, legal immigrants, and i'd be willing to bet that there are plenty of illegals that wish that the disrespectful, nationalist, uneducated parading in the streets illegals would just shut up, quit drawing attention and just let them live their lives in the quiet obscurity they once enjoyed so the stir they cause will not get them deported too. wait a minute that's just what's happening big mouths stirring the pot and creating problems for all illegals so all will be deported. can you feel the love?

I am with Dirty all the way on this one.

Just remember the difference. Legal immigrants should never be confused with ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Anti ILLEGAL activists are NOT racists, we are PRO American, a term that seems lost on a lot of the boneheads posting on these boards.

If you are in the U.S. waving the flag of your home country shooting off at the mouth and demanding rights, be prepared for a fight.

I'm all for immigration, my grandpa was one. But I believe it has to be done legally and if you stay here you should be naturalized and be eager to learn english and succeed. Unfortunately it is looked on by some as a meal ticket to come here and live off taxpayers and not try to succeed. I'm against my Social security money be paid to people who never worked a day in this country. I will never look down on someone who wants a better life for their family and is ready to work for it legally, it is the foundation of our country.

I have no problem with immigrants, however I do wish that they would appreciate they are no longer in their home country and try to act appropriately. I realize it's not a problem with most people, but the ones I tend to notice rather annoy me.

For example, don't talk loudly in strange languages in libraries when you're trying to study, don't wear tons of cologne on the bus so you can't breathe next to them, etc. If they want to keep their culture, that's fine as long as they keep it to themselves. But if they want it to be the same as where they came from, then maybe they shouldn't have come.

I always say, I'm not racist, I'm culturalist, because they should know that a little adaptation is necessary to succeed here, such as speaking English in public.

They came here for a job. They are desperate. They are all different. I blame the corporations for hiring them. (as if they didn't know. yeah right.)

I don't like the idea of amnesty but something has to be done.
Our government has failed us and the American public has been pretty silent so they get what they deserve. I'm ready to stand up and protest. I would fight for this country as long as we stand for something. Right now, I'm not sure that we do with the Bush administration. What they stand for is not what I stand for. They are pure evil. It's maddening.

Things are bad and unstable. It's not personal. It's desperation and fear. If we were living in more prosperous times then this wouldn't be as much of an issue. Resources are limited and so people are fighting.

Most work very hard????? Oh really??

Hispanic gang activity has called for increased police activity/ task force in EVERY major American city. They have a goal, alright. Get your head out of the sand.

Americans aren't against legal immigration. But I think that all illegals should have to move to Oklahoma so that they don't oversay their welcome, which is zero days. Illegal is a crime. I don't care why they came, just how long it takes to get them out of here.

We're only against immigrants of the ILLEGAL persuasion.

And I have yet to comprehend how some can consider abhorring a criminal act and demanding it's cessation as "racist."

When I am standing in line in the grocery store and see a Hispanic couple and a bunch of little kids buying gallons and gallons of milk with public assistance checks I get pissed knowing that happens all over the place by the thousands. Only one small example of the burden they place on the American taxpayer.

They are bad when they dont go through the proper channels to EARN their way into the US.
Otherwise, they're taking away jobs from people who have earned their right to stay here and work here and thats making the unemployment rate go up.
If they came here and are known within the system, the employment rate wouldnt be as high as it is today.
