7 bucks an hr and 3 extra dollars an hour for each sibling

so if its one kid ..7hr
2 = 10hr
3 = 13hr

thats fair

anything over 10 an hour is too much for one child keep it under 10.. and just add 3 per extra child

your not opening a day care and its not your"job" so your time is valuable.

I make $2.22 an hour in a major US city. I am WAY underpaid. That is for full time though. Here are some ideas.

Usually there is a child care place in most areas that help local child care centers and helps parents find childcare. See if you have a place like that locally. In Appleton, WI (where I used to live) it's called Child Care Resource and Referral. The link is below. Call the place like that in your area and ask for averages. Just tell them you are doing research. Then you will know how much people pay for centers and for family childcare.

Also call temporary child care places in your area and ask how much they charge. You can't really charge as much as a place with people who are certified, licensed and had a child care education (unless you are all those too). But it would give you an idea.

Finally ask your friends! Ask friends what they would expect to charge and how much they think is too much. Hope this helps!!

Do some checking in your area and see what the going rate is. I personally think 2 kids are twice as much trouble as one and in some cases could be more. Since you sound like you have not done this before.....be very sure this is what you want to do. Lots of responsibility, lots of work. You don't just sit on the sofa watching TV when you are baby sitting. Do you know activities to do with different age groups, can you cook and let the children help you prepare meals, do you know how to apply some incentive for them to be well behaved for you. Have you read any behavioral book for different ages groups. BIG RESPONSIBILITY.

If you are just looking for a part time job for extra money. Be a dog walker, dog bathers, dog sitter. Not quite as much repercussion if you make a small misstate.

it depends wildly on the babysitting market where you live. what's the going rate for babysitting in your area (it can vary by $10/hr or so depending on where you live)? how much would you pay for the same service? that's your answer. i get annoyed when people charge wildly more for more than one kid, because i assume a good babysitter is giving 100% of their effort to however many kids they are looking after, so they should be working equally hard no matter how many kids they're looking after (although obviously each kid will get somewhat less attention if there are more of them). definitely if it was more than a dollar penalty per extra child and i wouldn't do it.

I charge $20/day for my daycare kids and $7-10/hour for drop-in or night time care. I know people who pay between 12-15/hour for care.
