Too sickly sweet, both of them. I prefer proper English ice cream like Loseleys, not junk American imports.

Both are overrated. I have yet to find any flavor that I like and I am the kind of person who will eat anything. And they both talk about having tons of add-ins but the last time I bought a Ben &Jerry's I couldn't find anything in it even though it was supposed to be loaded with stuff. The flavor of the Haagen Daaz was totally off.
Dreyers and Blue Bunny are much better.

Ben & Jerry's
My favorite is Creme Brulee
The flavors avaliable vary somewhat here in the US are the ones I can think of off-hand:
Cherry Garcia
Chunky Monkey
New York Super Fudge Chunk
Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch
Napolitan Dynomite
Phish Food
Creme Brulee
Everything but the..
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
Stawberry Cheesecake
Pistachio Pistachio
Chubby Hubby
My local grocery store only carries about 10-12 of these flavors at one, and adds a new one here or there. These are the ones in recent memeory.
I am also a fan of Hagen-Dazs special flavor Sticky Toffee Pudding.

It depends where you live in the uk although if you have a big local super market by you like tesco, asda, morrisons, sainsuburys and others they should do alot of those flavours, or a blockbuster is good, if you go to their site it can tell you places to go
The americans do have alot more choice, check out all their flavours at the site :

Definitely Ben & Jerry's, the miracle that is Phish Food (the marshmallow creme) and my all time fave, peace of cake. At my local cinema they sell B&J and you used to be able to get this peach flavour, which had slivers of peach in it- well you can imagine what that was like. Also love Dublin Mudslide and Caramel chew-chew. My 18 yr old nephew loves Chunky Monkey, which you can no longer get in the UK- he brought some home in a freezer bag from our holiday in Florida last year. Life wouldn't be worth living without ice cream!
Oh and I need to add, when I was in Florida, the best thing I've ever eaten was Oreo cookie ice cream, very naughty!
