The short answer:
The child molesters issue, which is about abuse of power and favoritism. Too many examples that couldn't be explained away as some isolated case which would eventually corrected when the circuit overseer became involved, or it was appealed to Brooklyn, etc. Instead, there were so many cases that look just like the "old boy network" in business. Cronyism. Using the "imperfect men" excuse over and over and over and over.
The fantasy world of goodness collapsed before my eyes.
It's worse than the Catholic church or any other church because they are not just as guilty -- they're MORE GUILTY. They DARE to point fingers at other religions when they themselves not only protect the perpetrators but blame and persecute the victims.
I tried over and over to find reasons to make it okay. To make it some kind of horrible mistake and that the thing I'd devoted my entire adult life to. I checked and double-checked. The truth was, "the truth" isn't.
The Southern California wildfires blackened the sky, filled the air with unbreathable choking filth, killed some and forced thousands and thousands out of their homes. Those of us who didn't have to evacuate gave refuge to those who did. We gave them a safe place to run to when their foudations were rocked.
That anyone would have the nerve to call Watchtower refugees immoral shows just how brain-dead they are.

For me, a miracle happened, and I think that unless God decides to take your blinders off, you will not see what is real truth.
A Baptist minister read to me the scripture where Thomas calls Jesus Lord...It was like the blinders flew off...I was devastated, and it took me 18 long years of deprogramming and research into accurate theology and past witness failures to come to Christ.
The false prophecies alone should be enough to mane any Witness go screaming out of the Kingdom Halls and begging God to forgive them and ask God to reveal his truth to them....I don't understand, except, that....Until God was ready for me to see, I was one of them and did not see...although, I was also probably shown as well.

Oh, where to start? I started doubting when I was a kid and my elder father (along with all the other elders) looked the other way while my mother abused drugs and me. They all knew - I made sure of that. Then they finally put me on reproof for "slander" against my elder father. That was the last straw.

accually, i never believed it to begin with. i was born into it and never had a choice. i guess it was better for them that i at least gave lip service the go with my heart. like jehovah couldnt see beyond my poor acting skills
