Matthew 24:5-8 gives us some important clues so we can discern the approach of the end times, “For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many: SO ARE YOU THE MANY?? the one that performs those miracles you are seeking? then you will bow down and worship and say *This must be GOD* he proved it to me , because I can see him and he performs miracles, and has brought PEACE and did away with religion...

So how did Jesus Christ know so many scoffers would be deceived? just reading so many or your answers on what kind of proof you need makes Jesus statements true. Do you see that?

Shhh, you can't tell the truth and get away with it here. Every time I see the kind of answers you speak of just makes me stronger. It really shows how true the Bible is and how it will all come to a head just as the Bible predicts.

Mojo: just because it is written doesn't make it true. Finally some one who doesn't believe that everything is a science book is true! Right? Remember all that is written about in science books are mostly theories. Big bang theory, string theory, theory of evolution.....

I see that you see only what you want to see. There is doubt that Jesus really existed, for the Bible has contradictions about him, and he is not mentioned by anyone in the time he supposedly lived...if we can even determine that. One passage says he was born in the reign of Herod who died in 4BC. Another passage says he was born during the census of Quirinius who took charge of Syria (& Judaea) in 6 or 7 AD. That is a discrepancy of at least ten years in the bible's date of his birth. I can mention many more errors about Jesus. There is no proof that can overcome so many contradictions in the bible from beginning to end. I could quote some passages from Matthew that show Jesus believed the world would end while some hearing his sermons still lived. "Do you see that?"

Isnt common sense to think that someone will impersonate you? You don't have to have the power of God to think that way. Since when has someone "did away" religion. Religion freaks will never let that happen. They'd rather that the whole world go to hell then let someone destroy religion.

Im a hard person to convince simple tricks wont convert me. Even if I did witness Jesus turn water to wine and walk on water, you still couldnt convince me he is God on earth. Do something amazing or damn near impossible like slowly form a real dog in your hand...

Aren't modern day people who live by the Bible somewhat making miracles for themselves today by means of their own device? Like um, Mother Mary on a piece of toast? You don't think that condemning these oh-so-loathed questioners of altered reality is more of a defense mechanism against a group of anonymous people critically taking into consideration what the said religion has to offer? A defense against the people who could figuratively take away your heaven and hell and all that you know to be logic, reason, and justice in the world?

Hell, I guess I would be pissed too.

I don't understand why the whole "scoffers" thing is supposed to be so convincing. I mean, what was the prediction exactly? That in the future, not every single person on the face of the planet will be a Christian? That's not a very bold prediction...

Uhm, aren't the believers the many? I haven't found anyone whom I believe to be christ, yet the believers have... of course anyone is a potential believer, and therefore a potential part of the many. I don't see how I am one of them for admitting the possibility that somebody might present himself in such a way that would lead me to believe that that person is god. You have already found such a person apparently, so by your own logic you are deceived... I think.

If I wanted to create an organization that would last thousands of years, I would include a part about people not agreeing with what I do. Over thousands of years, (as science catches up with the lies I've written) I would say, "there will be evil doers that contradict what I've said, ignore them!" or something along those lines.

Religion was created, (much like everything else) to perpetuate itself. The founders knew it would have to rely on fools and believers (instead of thinkers.) It had to address the thinkers as evil, because we present valid points. If your religion allowed you to listen to us, your religion would end.

Just because someone doesn't believe what you do doesn't mean they're scoffing, but when you insist that they believe what you do, you can expect to thought of as smug and arrogant. Some people have read the Bible and don't accept it as an authority. That is their honest opinion, and they have a right to it.
Sometimes I think some people would stick a bible in God's face and try to tell God what to believe!

I think God has returned, and his name is David Copperfield.

Here's proof:

1. I have seen him perform miracles, like the statue of liberty vanishing.
2. He's tappin a supermodel.

Case closed.

I am Jesus.

Don't believe me? Pick a card, any card ...

Actually, this alleged quote by Jesus is one of MANY put in his mouth by a later, Gentile Church. There were already scoffers then, so rather than being a prophecy it is merely a reflection of current reality.
