What if throughout the years, all the mental energy comming from prayers and strong beliefs in a deity actually created a physical god?
What do you think?

What I mean is what if the belief in these stories and fairy tales actually created something physical?

If you look at the ceiling of the Sistene Chapel, you'll see that Michelangelo painted "the Creation" with the image of God emerging from a background that looks like a human brain. It's pretty easy to see where he was stating that man created God in his own image, rather than the other way around.

Not physical but imaginary -god resides only in human heads- much like any other imaginary figure, man created Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, they don't really exist no matter how much mental energy we put into it.

Option #1 Man created God so that:
-We know where we came from
-We know why we are here
- We know where we are going

Option #2 God created man so that:
-He could have relationship with us.
-We would give him glory from the decisions we make.
-He can tranform our lives with his presence.

I have seen many people tranformed by Christ. This may just be a placebo effect from the first option...but then there is his undeniable presence.....hmmm....bottom line, is Athiest will never klnow until they die, and Christians will never know until they die. Thats why they call it 'saved by faith' not knowing. Or saved by the placebo effect...we will never truly know. Actually....if you really want to know personally read John 7:7,8 and try it.

The author Dan Simmons wrote a book sort of similar to that, called 'Ilium' (and also a sequel, Olympos). Without spoiling the plot I would say that man eventually progresses to the point where anything he can imagine, he can make reality... including godlike beings.

HA!!!!

Got a surprise for you. Man did make god.

Desparate men in desparate times who didn't understand the world around them (or much else) brought god into existence to help explain events they couldn't fathom.

It's all made up....fairytales....stories....legends..... all man made.

You are enlightened! This is the way it actually is! God is all of us acting together and our actions are never the same--they cannot be!

The best has yet to come!

What do you mean "What if"?

God is certainly an invention of mankind. That "wheel" was invented over and over and over again but cultures all over this earth.
