A foetus.
That's self-evident, if you meant what was I before conception I did not exist as an individual living organism as my 2 parents zygotes would not have fused.

I have not yet been born into my next life, so I know what I am now, which is before being born into my next life. I was pretty much the same person, as I am today in my last life. But I definitely, have improved my self a lot in this life, and hope to be even more improve in my next one.

There's a Buddhist tradition that the reincarnating Ego attaches itself to a fetus at 3 months, so I once looked up famous people who had died 6 months before I was born. I came up with Hugo Montenegro, American film music composer and orchestra leader. lol.
