If you call 911 and EMS has to take you to the hospital, how much is the bill that you get in the mail later on for ambulance services? If you were taken in for alcohol poisoning.

Keep in mind this is for a person without insurance.

It varies. Ambulance bills usually arrive late. There's a "false comfort" zone of a few months where you forget and then wham! No insurance doesn't matter. My family has had 3 ambulance rides varying from $350 - $850. The reason doesn't matter (alcohol poisioning cannot be billed more). It depends on what other means are used along with the ambulance (back boards; oxygen; iv; etc).

I got in a car accident and hit my head really hard I was fine but they insisted that I get it checked out. They took me away in the ambulance. I don't have insurance and I think the bill was between $550 and $600, just for the ride that was about a mile.

A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!! Recently, for a 2 mile ride, from Assisted Living to the Hospital, my father was (or, Ishould say, Medicare) was billed $ 550.00. Non emergency, he fell and bmped his head. Treated and released.
Their argument? You are using the services of two highly trained people ( emt's) and a very expensive peiece of equipment, The ambulance)

We got a bill for over $800 and our house was 2 exits away from the hospital on the freeway. And this was 14 years ago. Maybe it costs more to be here in Ca.

It could vary. I work in the E.R (if you don't believe me, go to youtube and search 'bringing patients back'. That's our ER video) and I'm in constant contact with EMT's and Paramedics.

Depending on what was given to you en route to the hospital. A "basic run" would probably cost you just over a hundred. An advanced life support run could set you back bet $350 to $700.
But you don't have to be on 'life support' to warrant an ALS run.

The prices varyand also depends on what they had to dao in the ambulance. When they use lights, thats extra too. The ambulance ride is NOT free unless, your on state or govt. funded insurance then the taxpayers foot the bill.

Where I live (Ohio) it can cost anywhere from $300-$500 depending on what the ambulance charges.

If you have no insurance then it will cost about one grand. I was taken in for the exact same thing when I was fifteen and I'm still paying on it four years later because my parents said i ****** up so I foot the bill.
