I was interested in adopting this dog ,they said it was a purebred pomeranian, but I have never seen a pomeranian that was this coloring ,to me he looked more like a papillion. Whatever breed he is it doesnt matter to me ,I was just curious. Here is the link: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9563500

andy.notherone- wow you have anger issues .may i suggest counseling? and whats the problem with pet dogs ? i dont care if its a mutt or not ,to me it looked more like a papillion's bone structure. you can read as many standards as you want ,but not every dog confirms to standards and can still be purebred.

Yes dear, I believe that is a Pom. When they have the parti color with black heads it throws the look off because you can't see the cute little look in thier faces they are known for as well. Papillons have much bigger and wider ears. I have seen those colors plenty on a Pom. It isn't my favorite coloring for a Pom as I think it throws thier look off. Of course a rescue dog could be mixed but I don't think so. Anyway I commend you for considering rescuing that cute little doggy.

Looks like a Pomeranian to me. Also, dont mind the rude comments from the arrogant people here who were born knowing everything (aka andy...). This coloring can be found in both breeds and to an inexperienced eye, they can look an awful lot alike!! Go google both breeds and if you examine them closely, you will see the subtle differences in body type, ear size etc. He is a cutie, no doubt!!
Thank you for the thumbs down andy, lol it was expected

He almost looks like he could be a bit of both, but they wouldn't say he was a Pom if he wasn't so he's probably a Pomeranian.

I don't think this is a purebred Pom. He's got the facial markings of a Pap and the tail looks like a pap, but the rest of him looks like a Pom. Cute little guy, though!

From the AKC Pom standard at http://www.akc.org/breeds/pomeranian/ :
Color:
All colors, patterns, and variations there-of are allowed and must be judged on an equal basis. [...] Parti-color - is white with any other color distributed in patches with a white blaze preferred on the head.

This looks like a Pom to me. We had a black pom for 15years. She had no white on her but I have seen photos of other poms who are black and white. I have also seen pictures of tri-colored poms. He looks like a great dog!
