haha. if this is the biggest concern in your relationship right now, you are so lucky. honestly, it doesnt sound like you have high expectations, so anything will be good as long as it's edible, right? :)

he's working very hard for you, so i would respect all his hard work and tell him "thank you for making me dinner! my mom makes this too, and it's my favorite. maybe next time i will try her recipe for you!" you dont need to tell him exactly how you feel. Or mention that you two can cook together next time, make a fun tradition out of it. no matter what tell him how much you appreciate it.

HEY! A man that cooks for his lady is a very good man. Sit back, and enjoy it. My hubby cooks for me all the time and he's an excellent cook. Just go with it, I bet you're just thinking way too much about it. Oh yeah, and if you don't like it... suggest something that he can do differently next time.

Tell him the truth, BUT try to do it nicely. Maybe you could say it's too spicey or it's just not your favorite type of food- that way it doesn't sound like you're saying his food is bad, but actually it's not your preference in flavors...

My hubby is the cook in the house, it could end up saving you many hours of kitchen slavery in the end. Good luck and bon appetite!

You try everything, if you can't eat it, don't.

Otherwise, if it's good say so..

If not, say" It's not the way I like it..."
