Matthew 24
The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a]these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Finally, after the recent California wildfires, American insurance companies are in a near panic. Just as in the aftermath of Katrina, they're talking about no longer offering insurance in certain high risk areas. Apparently, their risk assessors have determined that catastrophic events are increasing in numbers, scope, and magnitude. In other words, prominent business leaders are now confirming the words of Jesus as He described the crescendo of events that will herald the last days of this age.

But is there a further explanation for the parade of major catastrophes that have befallen the U.S. in the last 7 years? I think there may be.

Here's my chance to prove that I am Psychic: New Orleans WILL be smashed by another massive hurricane. California WILL experience wildfires, mudslides, and earthquakes. The Mississippi river valley WILL flood. Annnnddddd: when these NATURAL disasters happen: the people who CHOOSE to live in these areas WILL cry out that not enough billions of OUR tax dollars are being spent to help them. In addition the insurance companies WILL panic and increase the cost of coverages for these types of losses in areas where it is A KNOWN FACT that these disasters WILL occur. Every time things like this happen the fatalists take it as the signs that "the end is here". Hasn't happened yet.

God is SO good!!! My sister & I were discussing this last night! In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus explains how the nations, or people, who do not have compassion on others, He will have no compassion for. Insurance companies are one of the biggest monopolies in the US next to the oil companies. Honest hard-working citizens pay millions in premiums each year to the insurance companies, and for the insurance companies to try to find ways around paying claims for losses, or increasing risk factors so people will be forced to pay more for coverage, is definitely robbing all people, but especially those who cannot afford their high premiums.

I agree that events, not only in the US but in the world, are increasing in intensity as a woman who is about to give birth. What Jesus told us to look for before His return is happening more and more often.

Thank you for posting the question, and may God bless you!!!

I understand what you are saying and it is my belief we, Christians, should take notice to all the earthly disruptions and destruction. But I don't think insurance companies are even thinking along that line at all.

Insurance is a money making business, so if you insure people who live in high risk areas you are going to lose more money then you can ever make. Insurance company CEO's like those big fat bonuses and how can they get those when they have to pay out to families who's lives have been destroyed.

Where's the fun in that??????? They could care less about people.

Wow... in this Information Age it is amazing to me how people can possibly be this ignorant of history, and not know that famines and pestilence are at the lowest they have ever been in history, and that earthquakes are no more common now than ever, and have been far worse.

Listen, ever since your book came out...everyone thought that their generation was the last, that their years were the "end of times" so far, we're still here ain't we? Also, they're just playing economics, nothing to do with "end of times" and if this IS the end of times, it's not because of your Messiah or anyone other than our own damn faults...we're the ones that f*cked the Earth up...and THAT'S why it's happening.

Hope this helps.
