Unless you filed for bankrupcy... yes. It has actually most likely gone to a collection agency. You should call that company NOW and find out how to pay it. It is already on your credit report, so you better fix it before it comes back to haunt you, it probably already has and you are not aware of it.

you are responsible for the bill no matter how long you wait to pay it.

the only thing most business do is write you off as a bad debt so they can clear the books at the end of the year. then your account goes to collections for their company. if you refuse to pay that department writes you off and then your account is sent to a collection agency where you have to pay or it goes on your credit record (usually)

If you owe it, the bill just doesnt go away over time. Pay up.

Well, we can't answer that question with the info you gave, maybe if you told us how much it was and who you owe it to and why you didn't pay it in the first place, you could get a better answer.

If you did not pay it off of course you do. Do you think the bill just "goes away" if you don't pay it?

Definitely call them to check if you have an outstanding balance. Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and check to see if it's on your credit. Most delinquencies are removed from your credit after seven years, but it is still your responsibility to pay them.

Call them and ask them if you have any outstanding balances with them. This could be negatively affecting your credit right about now. Also check your credit, bad credit, in the US, will hurt you for years and year and year....and years.
