This is from a biblical perspective, not trying to hurt your feelings, but this is what the bible says.
You say this is out of character for you, and I could understand that if you had only done it once, but the act that you continue is a form of blasphemy towards God because you know it is wrong. Now here is what you can do to resolve the problem, but keep in mind ths isn't going to change unless YOU make the effort.
Ask God to help you refrain from doing it, and whatever it is, stay away from it or that person or watever is causing you to do it. And you ned to callunto Christ and sk for forgiveness, and STOP doing it!! Hope this helps.. God Bless

A lot of sins are amusing due to the fact, good, they are able to be amusing. As a ways as why they're a sin... possibly it's penalties of distinct varieties of amusing that lead them to a sin. I do not believe it's the amusing points in themselves which can be improper. It's that the majority of them, when you do them, convey penalties you without problems do not believe approximately on the time of committing them. That, or they convey penalties we would choose to suppose may not contact us if we one way or the other use ordinary feel even as we sin (comparable to anyone who says they are able to drink with out it being detrimental so long as they do not get under the influence of alcohol). Maybe eventually they're sins due to the fact the dangerous without problems outweighs anything well (or nonetheless so much amusing) you get from them... and probably, due to the fact we're handiest human, we without problems have a rough time accepting that. We love to suppose that if we use our ordinary feel above the whole lot else, we are not able to be touched by means of the dangerous penalties. Besides, so much sins must have some thing well approximately them if they are to be dedicated. If there have been surely no advantages to sinning none folks might sin, and there might be no use for sins to be talked about to us. Even the worst of sins will also be justified by means of the brain of the character who commits them. For a few the justification is that they're amusing. For others, there are in most cases different motives they arise with to justify why they do them.

Hebrews 10:26:For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins 27. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation which shall devour the adversaries.

You say you cannot help yourself then you have never read Philippians 4:13 that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me?

The bible says we have the power inside us to control our thoughts and bodies. Even in weakness the bible promises Jesus will give you strength.

This is the problem I see with looking outside for god instead of with inside ourselves.

Just stay with God. I have a same problem, I keep repeating a couple sins willingly. I don't wanna do them, I just do. But I don't wanna stop either it seems. I keep asking for help with it. Just don't look at it as a reason to turn away from God. He always loves you and wants to help you. If you really aren't ready to stop it, then tell Him, ask Him to help you desire to stop it. God is not far away, it is just that you FEEL that way because you are ashamed. God is very near to us in our hardships, we just don't always see Him.

Knowing that your sinning is the first step. Repeating the sin is human nature. If we enjoy something [wrong or right] we tend to do it more than once. I find that when I'm in the situation where an opportunity to sin will arise then the best thing to do is avoid that situation. I think you will prevail, just don't give up on yourself.

I have the same problem as you I don't know if it's the same sin but what I do is ask God to forgive me every night for my sins and to help me with my problem and gradually get better at it. God doesn't except a change of night.

Really, I think you should do away with this nonsense about God and forgiveness and look at the behavior itself from a psychological perspective. If the sin you can't give up is murder, then you are a psychotic. If it is masturbation or something equally as harmless, get over it. I am sure that God has other things to worry about.

The guilt construct that Christians live in has nothing to do with their relationship with God. You are not a perfect being and you need to learn how to live with that. Look at your Pastors and Priests, they have ruined your minds with their teachings, bankrupted you with their thievery all the while participating in the most licentious behavior imaginable.

I would suggest you calm down and meditate. I am not saying their is no God, I am saying that God is not a hall monitor.

First know that God's mercy doesn't end. It will be there when you are ready for it. Sin works that way. Usually it grabs hold of you and keeps you slave to it. It is hard to break free of, on our own, but through Christ, it is possible. I know you may feel so far from God right now, but pray for a spirit of conviction in your heart, that your heart may be filled with sorrow for the sin you are struggling with. Pray that God may help you to counter this sin and let Him know how much you want to be freed of it. This is the prime-time that the devil WANTS you to feel far from God, so that you will just fall into your sin deeper and deeper and further from God. Don't let it happen. Cling to God, your rock and your refuge. Pray from the bottom of your heart. When you are truly sorry, seek confession, repetence and reconcile with God. I too, will be praying for you.

Perhaps this short skit will touch you in the same way it did for me. It shows what sin does to you, but how much stronger Christ is and how He will do ANYTHING to be reunited with you out of such great love and mercy for you.

Whatever it may be, stay away from it. Don't consciously making the mistake over and over. When you find yourself falling remember in your head that its wrong and just turn away from it. I am dealing with a sin I have repeated as well and its just best to do anything you can to prevent even the temptation of it
