At my work, we had to go through an ethics/harassment audit. A coworker had a bumpersticker-type sign on her desk that said 'Jesus Loves You'. The auditor said that the sign was borderline inappropriate and should be taken down. If the sign had said 'Jesus Loves Me' that would have been okay.

What are your thoughts? And if it were not Jesus but another religious figure would you feel the same?

Thanks.

Would it have been okay if the sticker read "Jesus Just Feels Kinda Blah About You"?

I think you are free to express, as long as you are not offending others. I can imagine someone offended because of their religious beliefs or lack thereof. Maybe some is a Jew, an atheist, etc?
That sign in a way is saying that her belief is the right one and there for Jesus loves you even if you do not believe in him.

Not appropriate for a work environment.

"Jesus loves me" facing others is still advertising!
If the sign said "jesus loves you" and was facing the person who believed that (in this case the person who put it up), it would be ok as a kind of personal belief, like having your family photo on your desk!

I keep all my personal "motivators" in locations so that someone has to enter all the way into my cubicle to see them. If they are allowed that close they usually know me well enough that they do not get offended.
I do not put my lack of beliefs in others faces. I feel the home and church is the place for their inspiration not in a workplace

I woulda slapped a sticky note that says "ME" over the "You".

I think we should be able to post whatever we want as long as it's not vulgar, sexually suggestive, etc. If someone had a sign on their desk that says "Thor Loves You", I'd just laugh it off. What's the big deal?

I could care less what someone else wants to put on their desk at work. *As long as they don't work at a public school*
