Yes I think it is unconditional, I think the true meaning of unconditional love is a parents love for their children, I have a 5 year old boy and another on the way and I have often thought what if he turns out to be a mass murderer or a child abuser (you wouldn't believe the things that go through my mind!) and I still think I would love him, I might not like him and I might never want to see him again but he would still be my son and I can't say I wouldn't love him.

There is nothing my children could do to make me stop loving them. I will always love, even if I am upset with them or do not agree with everything they do in life. A Mothers love should be unconditional in my opion.

I don't think it's right for parents to indulge their children to a point where everything they do gets forgiven.Children need to understand there are consequences in life.Loving them is a given,it's not something that can be switched off but you have to love them enough to do the right thing when they go wrong.

most definately - a parents love should be unconditional. nothing should ever stop a parent from loving a child. they will always be your child.
There are time when you really despise your children - for something they are doing (being a brat) but you still love them. The bratness does pass.

I'm currently without my 3 daughters and I miss them so much it hurts
I was accused of emotionally abusing them, it made me so ill that I walked away from them,
I never did anything except love them, all I did was ask for support as I'm a single Mum,
I'd do anything right now to hold them
Hopefully I'll be strong enough soon to fight the Social Services and they can come home.

I think a parent's love should be unconditional. As a parent, you may not always like what your child does, but I can't imagine not loving my child. Everyone makes mistakes, it is just part of growing up.

NO and any good parent will love their child(ren) unconditionally. That said, a parent can be angry and hurt and disppointed, perhaps even disgusted with their child, but should always love him/her, and hopefully the abovementioned feelings will go away and the child will correct whatever the bad thing was and not do it again.

I feel a parents love is unconditional, but that doesn't mean that they agree with or even support their child in every decision. It doesn't mean they even like their child. There is a difference between loving someone and liking them.
Example:
My stepfather loves his youngest son, but rarely speaks to him. His son stole from him (including a gun that was later found in a drug bust), became a heroine junkie, and got into physical fights with him.
