Most communities have a general resource place - try looking under social services in your yellow pages. A good place would be United Way (if you have an area one), and also your Social Rehabilitation Sercies (of Department of Children and Families)... whatever your state calls it.

It's an impossible question to answer! It's like asking, "I need to know all of the ways a person can make a living." The list is endless.

Your area's Yellow Pages will have listings for nonprofit agencies and self-help groups. The white pages will have listings for government agencies providing such things as mental health services, and these government offices can let you know of AA and NA meetings in your area. Your local United Way may have a listing of all of the nonprofits in your area. If you type your zip code into Volunteermatch.org, you will see a list of some of the organizations in your area seeking volunteers (and, therefore, offering services in your area).
