I think it would be interesting to map the homes of cancer patients in an area against the locations of major power lines to see if there is an obvious link. I've heard a lot of claims but I've never seen something like that. I'm looking for maps of Georgia in specific because thats where I live.

There have been studies conducted of this link.
It turns out that there is no link.

The way these things start is like this:
A town has a relatively large number of people who get (fill in the blank type of cancer). People assume there must be a special cause for this (cancer).
People look around, up and down. AHA ! They all live near power lines !!!!
Sue the power company, tear down the power lines!
ANd the cycle of hysteria and ignorance continues and continues...

Cancer-Cluster studies are on going all over the country.
But, you might try the website for the power company that serves your area.
Don't be surprised if your efforts are thwarted due to Homeland Security issues.

You could ask your local government (you may have to do some explaining due to terrorists). They may provide you with one or try local electric companies. I don't know how you could find out who has cancer without going door to door.
