Buying a used bed frame is not bad. You can even paint or apply a new coat of wood stain on it to make it look new. I wouldn't suggest you use a used mattress for health and sanitary reasons though.

It depends on who you are buying it from... If it's a family memeber that you know/trust than it shouldn't be a big deal... However, inspect it.. If it's just a bed frame than give it a good cleaning with soapy water.. If it's a mattress/box spring than give it a good once over... Look for stains, spots etc.. My mattress is in GREAT condition... I vacuum it every week.. I flip, rotate and turn it every few months and I have a waterproof cover on it that I wash every week... If i was buying used I would probably give it a good vacuum and spray it with lysol... Then get an all over cover just to be on the safe side.. If you still weren't 100% sure... Good luck

If you are getting it from someone that you know or from an organization like goodwill or one like it that has them cleaned. Some people have to have every thing new. Use common sense. If it has an odor or looks shabby stay away from it. If it looks real clean it probably is, Don't hesitate to stick you're nose right up to it and smell it. Don't wait until you get it home. You are going to jam your nose into it when you sleep on it. Do you want a surprise then.

I buy all my mattresses from a used furniture store. I can buy $1000 mattresses for $89.00. They sterilize everything, and have the seals to prove it. 20 years, and never a problem

no but you have to make sure it's been cleaned thoroughly. I personally wouldn't do it myself because im too paranoid. But bed bugs are bad and I wouldn't want to sleep on something that someone else has 'had fun' on
