What do you belive is the root of all evil?

My belief is that 'fear' is the root of all evil, since fear is the main cause of hate

Think about it tho, why does a white teenager become a supremist that hates all blacks? beacause he is taught to fear them. Why did all the nazi members follow hitler? because they feared that the jewish nation was going to take over them

Evil results from wrong thinking. When one has desires, fears, hates, greed, or even hurt and disappointment. It may be because they are deluding themselves with a false sense of reality and in thinking that things that are only superficial are permanent and important. Our choices take us to God or takes us to evil.
We need evil to know where not to go.

you have a point there about fear. I do not believe there is any root of all evil. I do believe that ALL humans are selfish and have to be to propagate our race. I don't believe it is evil to be selfish, though i could be convinced into believeing that denial of this innate selfishness is evil

It's not fear but the attachment to desire that is the mother of all sins and thus evil. If one is attached to the desire to have and to keep, and the desire to be rid of somethng, he will fear not having, not keeping and not being rid of. Fear is just a fruit of attachments to desire.
