I've never heard of that.
Honestly, the best way to tell if you need more iron is to get a blood test. Your skin wouldn't tell you much anyway...most of your iron is stored and used in the blood.

That's an old wive's tale or an urban legend. If you think you are iron deficient the only way yo tell for sure is to see a doctor and get proper medical help. At one time silver had a whole bunch of urban legends associated with it, that was just one of many. We've all heard of silver bullets and vampires or werewolves, that was one of many. Most are wrong, some are dangerous and one of these legends was so off base that it killed people who believed it. The legend was that if you rubbed a silver coin on a mushroom could tell if it was toxic or edible by the colour the mushroom turned.

Gypsy Woman needs to look up the definition of pure silver. Sterling silver is 99.999995% silver or more. It doesn't get any more pure than that. AND NO... Rubbing silver on your fazce and looking for a dark line is no indicator that you need morfe iron.

actually you take a pure GOLD ring and strike it down your face or arm, and if a dark line appears there then you have an iron deficiency, and how dark the line is the more severe the deficiency is

What??!!
pure silver doesn't tarnish, if it leaves a mark on your skin, that could be sterling silver, not pure. But I have never heard of anything about telling how much iron in your body by rubbing silver...
p.s. dickn2000a is the one who needs to look up the definition of sterling silver. It contains 92.5% of silver and the rest is alloy, thus "sterling", that is also why you see ".925" stamped on sterling silver jewelry. Don't take my word, google it.

no, this doesn't work at all, tho you can get dark marks from several metals, it doesn't mean much... quality of the metal, acidity of your skin... whether you wear make-up (no kidding! make-up is often colored with metal salts and those are VERY abrasive to metals!)
