You say they are just seeking a better life.... well, so am I !!!
So why should I pay for Other country's citizens to live here, and pay for their Education, Medical Exp., food and housing subsidies??? I went to college and paid for every cent of my education, no govt helped me out, and my parents where farmers, so they could not afford to help either.
ABout learning english, I have any easy question. How can they drive on our roads and not be able to understand our traffice signs and laws???? I dont want them on the roads when I am around, I would like to make it back home in one piece!
Added: There was an accident where I live (wis) about 3 months ago. THe driver was going 70 mph in a 35 mph zone. He lost control and rolled the car, and the engine was 100 yds from the rest of the car. The car was bought in Illinois and never registered, no insurance on it. The ILLEGAL ALIEN driver was killed.

I am English and lived in Holland for 4 years and my insurance had run out (you need to have a private insurance for sickness etc to live in Holland). Two Dutch police officers came to my home and said that I was classed as an illegal alien (I was not born in that country so was rightly called an alien it is not an insult) because I wasn’t insured. Not just immigrants are classed as aliens. I had 3 days to sort my insurance out or I would be escorted to the nearest airport or ferry terminal and made to leave Holland. My lack of insurance was just an over site on my part.
I believe anybody who wants to live in another country they weren’t born in should follow the countries laws and at least try to learn the language. I also believe Britain is a magnet for immigrants because of its soft approach. I would never deny anyone the right to move to another country but my opinion is you work for your money and learn the language.

I am hardcore anti-illegal and I do not call any assimilated legal immigrant an alien.
I call illegal aliens:
INVADERS
and now call all illegal alien's illegal babies:
INVADER BABIES !!!
Legal immigrants are OK so get your PC facts straight and support the law, not the mucky morality that spews bloody bleeding heart chunks every time La Raza remembers it's Aztec blood lust and drools for conquest of las colonias. Many illegal alien INVADERS are not seeking asylum, but dinero to send back to the mother-land. The money goes to corruption and other factors that keep their home systems in poverty and reliant on foreign aid and corporate bailouts instead of correcting the problems in their own countries.
The "Aliens" are just that, by definition, and it is not racial or biased, but just correct.
Study a bit about propaganda, and you will realize how much the actual words mean and we who realize this try to use the most correct and clear words as possible to describe the situation. Propagandists distort the words to their own advantage to pull the heart strings of impressionable people like yourself who probably are very nice and just want a better world. Unfortunately, facts and definitions are not used enough and the blurry PC doxology many ascribe to are actually abusing the words in order to bolster untenable positions.
The law is the law. NO AMNESTY. I don't care where you INVADED from, Mars or Mexico, Saturn or Spain, or even England.

You are right of course. They are called Aliens by angry or hurt People who have suffered because of New comers into the country, and because of the equally rude remarks they have had to suffer from many of them . They feel these people behave more like people from another planet. But it is the same in almost all countries I visited. The foreigner is called unflattering names. Try not to worry about it.

Alien doesn't sound so bad. It's what context your put it in. Alien just mean something foreign. So yes if an immigrant come to this country with intent to live illegally then they are alien because they do not have proper documents to prove they are citizens of some form. If a person from the same country comes to visit for 2 weeks they are called tourists or visitors, not alien. So there is a difference in definition. The same apply for any countries out there.
Also I told one of my friends who agrees to giving illegal aliens the same rights as US citzens. Which yes we I feel people need to be treated with dignity but at the same time illegal is illegal and there should be some regulation. Since there are a large amount Mexicans coming to America then why don't the US government buy mexico and then they can become citizens, vote, and pay taxes like everyone else? That is just one example from one country. There are so many from other countries that wants to live in America. Either we buy and own countries from where the most people who wants to come to the US to solve illegal alien problems or we just let them all in the US or We have border and protection for the US citzens. Which ones is it?

The definition of Alien, according to most dictionaries, has nothing to do with being FROM one place so much as NOT being a citizen of where you are. When I visited the Bahamas, I was an Alien tourist.
Hence: people who come to this country and do not become citizens are Aliens. Permanent Resident cards used to say "Resident Alien" on them. (I don't know if they still do.)

Who do you think pays for that 'standard of education'? WE do, for our own children. They are taking what we are paying for that doesn't belong to them, just as if they raided education accounts. Precisely BECAUSE we subsidize education and services for our own poor people, we need to limit how many people can come. Also, the wages we need to make to subsidize those benefits need to be higher than we can make with so many excess laborers here driving down wages.
As you say, their own rich do NOT subsidize education and services (and most of the top 5 richest including the very richest are no longer Americans). Don't punish the good guys who try to. They are taking from our children, our elderly and our sick - our own most vulnerable.
Alien means foreigner and meant that before science fiction existed to make it mean anything else. It is a standard English language term.

A "Immigrant" is a person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another
An "Alien" is a resident born in or belonging to another country who has not acquired citizenship by naturalization
Alien isn't meant to be derogatory it's just a term. It's ignorant people that use, abuse and disregard human life.

Most people here only use the term Alien for those who illegallly entered this country, and they deserve worse than being called a disrespectful name, since they are disrespectfultowards us and refuse to respect our laws. Respect is a two way street.
