The first website has no Etiquette..Let one say ,one's Religion is superior-but not not pass derogatory remarks about another Religion-everybody can do that. But etiquette prevents stooping down to that low level. one should learn to respect the sentiments of other religious persons. The second website is somewhat balanced and very near to the facts.Only there appears to be a PANIC that if Christians start showing interest in terminologies like Krishna,Yoga,Kundalini,Chakrams,Karma, Mantra(M),Avathar(am) etc lt would detract Christians more and more towards understanding Hinduism and their curiosity will increase and it would be difficult to keep the Sheep impounded. But the fear expressed by the Cardinals,Bishops Pastors and other clergymen is "Real".Yoga Paadhanjalam is one of Six systems of Hindu Philosophy. The 6 systems are divided into 3 groups---Nyaaya -Vaisheshikam---Saankya -Yogam---Poorva and Uttara Meemaamsam---Saankyam argues that the concept of God (Parama Aathma) is un-warrented when there is a Soul (Jeeva Aathman-Avyaktham) inside every one of us.Yoga Paadhanjalam (what the Euro-Americans learn as Iyengar Yoga-Iyer Yoga-Bikram Yoga-Thakram Yoga and all that) closely associated with Saankya Philosophy. It is why Acharya(Great Teacher) sri.Sankara attacks Saankya. Christianity is EXACTLY opposite to Saankya. Christianity believes in a Savior,G-O-D=GOD and Spirit(Trinity). In YOGA(Paadhanjalam) only 12 % is these Aasanas(Streching-Yawning-Contracting etc)-the remaining 88% (Yamam, Niyamam, Praanayaamam, Prathyaakaaram, Dhaayanam,Dhaarana,Samaadhi) is Religious Philosophy only for the Union/Yoking of the Individual Soul with the Universal Soul.Yoga(m) does not stop with sri.Padhanjali's Sutram only.it includes Mudra(Aavaahani, Sthaapani, Avakunditha,Apaana,Vyaana,Thaala etc) Nyaasam (Viparyaasa,Kara,Anga etc) and Karanams. They are all used during the consecration of an IDOL.in the rituals and comes under "Mystic practises" (Tantra)--During consecration of an IDOL-Mantaram,Tantram and Yantram are used .All come under YOGA(M) only.So the fear of the Christian clergymen is Genuine.Either One should either remain a TRUE Christian beleiving in sacred Bible and Pastor or a Hindu,if one beliefs in Karma,Chakram, Kundalini,Mantram,Yoga(M),Avathar(am),Dhaatharam etc.One can not cheat Oneself by "Double Standards".
P.S:-Avathar(AM),Dhaathaaram are missing in the main Post .

When a Christian practices yoga, they are participating in an eastern mystical religious practice.
Even their own literature agrees with this. In the attached link, they even talk about a serpent, and higher consciousness. These are demonic manifestations, and you would be inviting them in your life.
Why would a Christian even consider this? There are those who say that you can separate the exercise component from the mystical, but that is another lie of the enemy.
A Christian should flee from this, so they don't become a victim of the lie. If Satan cannot have your soul, he will have your walk if you let him. And eastern meditation is one sure fire way to do that.
Paul even says, "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot eat at the table of the Lord and at the table of demons. Are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? We are not stronger than he is, are we?" (I Corinthians 10:21-22)
And
"What harmony exists between Christ and Beliar, or what do a believer and an unbeliever have in common?" (II Corinthians 6:15)
For those who claim to be Christ's, yet say that yoga is permissible, hear Jesus' words: "Why do you keep calling me 'Lord, Lord,' but don't do what I tell you?" (Luke 6:46)
Christ is the Living Word of God. His Word tells us what we should do. Those who choose their will over His, are disobedient.

Yoga is a good way to become more in tune with your body, and when did taking good care of ourselves become wrong? Oh, and for the poster who said that chanting "Ohm" is stupid, it was the word "Ohm" which eventually became the Christian "Amen." "Ohm" was supposed to have been the sound the universe made when it was created, and therefore evolved significance as a way to glorify the "creator"...hence, "Amen."

Yoga is NOT a religion. It is an exercise extending the joints and movements of the body and will aid against many bone and joint and muscle problems.
The only way it is wrong is if, while in the state of exercise you concentrate on an erroneous religious contemplation.

No, no, no. Yoga is compatable with any and all religions. Meditation is not evil, it brings you in touch with your inner self. It does not teach or preach against any religion. Baptists are the most closed minded of all the religions.
