I have a rash or irritation located in my left armpit and it seems to be spreading. It is red, swollen and I get pimple like bumps in the same location. I have tried switching deodorants but no change and it is only under one arm.

"WE DON' NEED NO STINKIN' DEODORANTS!!!" ;)

All kidding aside, it amazes me how many people have armpit problems on this website! Maybe we should stop accessing these pages until this "rash" of armpit problems disappears! ;) (Seriously! Type "armpit" into the "Search for questions" box, and you'll see what I mean!)

Anyway, below are some links for your icky problem!
(WARNING: the images at the second link are not for those with weak stomachs!)

In conclusion, don't "sweat" it, and it's okay to keep your arms down when you applaud my answer! ;)

Yes, I went through that faze. For me it was more important just to express my criticism that to change anyone since I know that would never happen. The results were painful for my parents who were arrogant, self righteous people. I was actually very respectful in how I did it but they were not amused. My father has been deceased for many years and he gave everything he had to my brother (haha- part of the cost of speaking truth to power). My mother and I have almost nothing in common to talk about so our conversations are brief. I feel like I had the right and the obligation to give my points of view so I regret nothing. I would caution though that once you say what you have to say, then move on. Be respectful at all times and maintain a good attitude. Most parents I think can grow from some healthy criticism but some will react badly. In the latter case be prepared to lose your inheritance.

Go to the doctor. There are many different things that it could be with different remedies for them. Could be eczema, the onset of psoriasis, simple irritation, and believe it or not it could even be a yeast infection lol. I got a rash in my right armpit when I was pregnant and thought the doctor had lost his mind when he said I had a yeast infection lol. Only time in my life that I've ever had one and it was in my armpit lol. HaHa!! Now that I've rambled.....Go to the doctor hun!!! Good luck :)

Do you shave too? I found that I got a rash only on my right armpit (I'm left handed) and I think it was because I was pressing harder when shaving using my dominant hand. Just a thought.

i had a rash years ago under my arms, but it was caused by heavy sweating. The doctor had me shave my armpitts, keep them clean and stop using deodorant for a couple of weeks. It cleared up.

I would check with a doctor. If you just trying guessing what it is and using different cremes & such on it, you may just make it worse. My husband had a red, dry, itchy rash under both arms & he tried anti-fungal & anti-bacterial cremeS (lots of different brands, kinds, etc.) and they all just seemed to make it worse. I finally convinced him to go to the Dr. and we found out he has excema (sp?), so none of those cremes would have ever helped! I would check with a Dr., they can tell you what to use.

I had the same problem, and the only deodorant that works for me is Dove for sensitive skin. Hope this helps!
