Does anyone else find it utterly IRONIC that "Dog" The Bounty Hunter is always spewing how Jesus is the way, and how everything he does is in Jesus' name, but then he refers to black people as the "N" word???

Does anyone else see how this is very typical of the Jesus freaks in our society? They incessantly repeat the nonsense from the Bible, tell us what Jesus would do and tell us we are all going to hell if we don't do the Lord's deeds, and yet they walk around doing the complete opposite of what they preach...Like Dog calling people the "N" word!

Let me clarify something for a few of you Atheist/Agnostic bashers out there...

Atheists and Agnostics do NOT walk around trying to convert or guide you to act or behave in any manner. We don't knock on your door to get you over to "our side" like Christians. Therefore, the hypocrisy lies with someone that tells me to not steal or kill, but then turns around and steals and kills. Understand the analogy???

A private conversation was made public. I'm no fan of the Dog, watched his show a few times for a giggle, white guy dressed up like an American Indian biker, Ha-Ha... But the betrayal perpetrated by his family is worth mentioning. While maybe not guilty of racial slurs, who of us are not guilty of saying something in private that would mortify us if made public? His comments were wrong, but isn't the irony the fact he facilitated his demise by trying to avoid it? "Jesus Freaks" bother me too, make the rest of us who love Our Lord look bad. If you live your life right, don't steal, kill, treat others in a way you wouldn't appreciate etc, I have no problem with your choice to worship any Deity or not. People who truly serve Our Lord love to share our faith with those who are ready and willing to listen. I do not go door to door, and politely turn away those who might come to my door explaining to them I've already been saved, thank you. Please don't think that all people of faith are n word spewing, bible thumping, judgemental ******* because of something stupid said by some guy on TV.

Christians admit that they're sinners and get things wrong; that's why we need saving. Having said that Christians should try and live as Christ taught; unfortunately there are plenty of people who call themselves Christian and oppose it by the way they live. Everyone I know would admit to hypocrisy at some point; lucky the Church accepts hypocrites else we'd all be atheists!

By the way the Rev Soleil is completely wrong on this one. The Gospel was for the Jews and the whole world. The Great Commission that Jesus gave commanded His disciples to preach to everyone. He used illustrations involving Samaritans who the Jews hated. He spoke to society's outcasts... Jesus was no racist.
He also healed the Canaanite woman's daughter and praised her faith.

The trite but true answer to that is that Christians aren't perfect just forgiven.

Christians are always talking about what Jesus would do because we know He is the only perfect example we have to follow. If we compare ourselves to or model ourselves after other humans, we will mess up and we will be disappointed.

It's unfortunate that Dog the Bounty Hunter, or some televangelist, or any Christian person you know is your only reference point for what it means to be a Christian. All of us are still at war with the flesh--if we get it right it's only because we have allowed Christ to live through us, and if we get it wrong, it's because we've allowed self to gain control.

If you read the Bible, you will see that even the apostles and other heroes of the faith had sins in their life to deal with even after they had a close walk the Lord.

Hallelujah that when God looks on us as saved, He sees the blood of Jesus covering our sins and we are forgiven. Dog may have to face the consequences of sins he commits, and may need to seek forgiveness to restore fellowship, but if he is truly saved, his sin is covered. The other conundrum you've got going here is that lots of people claim to be Christians, and as you say, live lives contrary to Christ--though we aren't to judge others, it is true that people can fake it and actually hurt the cause of Christ. I don't know whether Dog is truly a Christian or not, and it's not up to me or you to figure that out--it's between him and the Lord. I certainly wouldn't hold this guy up as a Christian example to follow. He is first and foremost a reality celebrity making $$ from entertainment, and his job puts him in with a pretty rough crowd. He may be fun to watch, or even fun to hate on, but don't make him out to be more than he is.

I'm sorry you think the Bible is nonsense, because by reading it you would have a better understanding of what Jesus really taught and wants from us, and why none of us are capable of managing that in our own power.

Hmmm...
I actually do see your point, and agree with it.

HOWEVER, I have to add that these people are NOT following Christ's teachings, and therefore, they are NOT doing His will...so they are NOT a "bad reflection" on Him, but only on themselves.

BTW, I sort of object to your use of the term "Jesus Freak", as this term, interchangeable with "Jesus People" was coined back in the sixties for kids (like I was) who (among other things) loudly protested racism, believing that God truly did create all men equal.
Like the term "Christian" this term has become badly twisted and abused.

EDIT:
As has been pointed out to you already, most people are hypocrites in something or other...as your question plainly shows, you have some prejudice, yourself.

Atheists and Agnostics...Let's Talk Generalizing...?
All people are guilty of these things, not just Christians. Just because someone loves God dosen't mean that they are perfect. It means that they are aware of the things they are supposed to do, but living the life is very hard and God knows that we will falter from time to time. I love Jesus and pray to him everyday, yet I get road rage and cuss people out everyday. I am a work in progress. It does not mean I don't believe. I ask for forgiveness and the strength to let go of all my anger.

How many of us have said something totally polically incorrect in what was supposed to be a private conversation? I know I have. When speaking with family members and in private conversations we can say whatever we want to. So can Dog - and evidentally he was right as this woman has convinced Dog's son to sell the recording of his Dad's conversation to the National Enquirer. So obviously neither of them have any values - family or other.

Dog never claimed to be a perfect Christian and even when one sins you are supposed to be able to go to Jesus and be forgiven. When Jesus gives you the right to judge others then you can do so until then let sleeping dogs lie.

If he isn't saying it with offensive intent, irrespective of what the word is, then there isn't anything amiss....

People might get offended, but that is their own stupid fault.

But you're right that people are hypocrites.
And yet so SO wrong to judge them so.... because EVERYONE is a hypocrite at some level, and what is more hypocritical therefore than pointing out the hypocrisy of others?
Yeah, I'm including myself... though I do make efforts to avoid it when I can.

Religions such as Christianity are merely ways to gain power for those without other means to do so such as wealth. It allows them to reduce the value of those with different or opposing views. The Bible is vague and allows you to support any opinions through taking phrases out of context, so by declaring yourself a Christian or a Muslim or other etc. for example, you can basically keep the same views you had before, and if anyone argues than they are blasphemers and sinners and against God (You).

Dog will have to answer for his words and actions to a higher power than you or I. You and I will have to answer to that same power. You are quite right about the hypocrisy of the whole thing. No, you don't go around trying to convert Christians to your way of thinking. You are quite content with bashing them and finding fault anywhere you can. Christians are not perfect, but the one who died for our sins is. We trust Him, not ourselves for our salvation. If you want to see a hypocrite, I suggest you look into a mirror and one will be staring back at you.

I am a Unitarian Universalist after years of up bringing in the Lutheran faith. I think most Christians are so full of them selves, they can't see far beyond the horizon. Let's face it most of them know **** about the world. And most of them are so ignorant and so hypocrytical it stinks to high heaven. Good luck on that oneQ
