Have you noticed how most of the chefs very rarely grill food.

So true. I have also noticed the amount of salt they put into some of the dishes.

Most of the shows are filmed in indoor studios and grills create a lot of smoke which interferes with the video and smokes out the audience.

Also, the vent system and the grilling itself would probably interfere with the audio system.

However, I've seen quite a few shows where chefs grill in the studio, at least once a week, even more during the summer.

They have this show on the Food Network called "Hot Off The Grill with Bobby Flay". The setting is always outdoors where he has a grill setup....

Also to move all the equipment outdoors then relies on the weather factor. Stovetop grilling is becoming more and more seen and is great for the home chef.

No, I have never noticed. Bobby Flay has a show on the food network. He grills a lot on the show.

If you have a griddle, the ( almost ) same results can be obtained on top of the stove.
