A carburetor is used on the older model cars, go to a Auto Zone and ask to see one. They deliver gas to the intake for the piston cylinder so the car will run, Fuel injection has replaced the carbs for better performance and gas mileage. Good Luck and God Bless

Is this a trick question? A carburetor is the device on most internal combustion engines that mixes the fuel with air. Your lawn mower engine has one. It does basically the same function as a fuel injector.

it's what they used before fuel injection came along. it went where the throttle box goes now.
of course, there's no such thing as a 'carbeurator'.

A carb works by mixing fuel and air before it goes into the intake manifold and then the combustion chamber (through the intake valves).

it mixes gas and air together in a gas engine before it goes into the cylinder for firing. if you have a gas lawn mower take off the air filter and you will be able to see the carburetor.
