Blood baby, blood! DEI bares the Earnhardt name, but DEI is no longer an Earnhardt business nor is it anything Dale Senior would want it to be. DEI died when Dale passed away. Junior did precisely what his father would of wanted and would of done himself.
The foundation what DEI was built on has been renovated into a new mind and the heart and sole of Dale Senior removed from it. To even think DEI is now about Dale's dreams is for those who didn't know and understand him. Dale's heart and sole left DEI and went to HMS with the Earnhardt family blood.
With that, let the Junior Nation go and grow along with Dale Senior's Dream at HMS and JR Motorsports. Just as it did when Dale Senior went to RCR.
Best wishes for DEI drivers, but my heart is with the true Earnhardts at HMS.

As I have stated before, I am a Jr fan. Dale that is. He could be out there in a Honda, (which since Toyota is in won't be long) And I would still pull for Dale. The fact that he is with HMS is, in my opinion as good a move as Jeff G made years ago. Sink or swim, DEI will land where ever it lands, I wish it no harm nor the owner. Maybe if Dale father were still alive things would be differant. He's gone now and she has to look out for herself. And DEI. Try to remember that she was Dale's wife and stood by his side, just speculating here but maybe it is too painful for her to spend too much time at the tracks or up front in the limelight of DEI.
I would hope that most Dale fans. Of the father or the son remain loyal to there driver and not what car he drives or for who. How many Stewert fans will jump ship just because he will be in a toyota next year?
Oh, wait, real fans do not jump ship....

Most definitely Dale Junior...He finally got one monkey off his back. Can't say as I am real thrilled with his move to HMS, but there a lot of ties there that go way back. It's the driver you cheer for, not the team...Junior has pretty much come full circle now, survived his Dads death, left DEI which should of been Seniors siblings company...has his own things going on, looking at his statistics, his record is NOT shameful...the next thing...coming out from his dad's shadow that a lot of people have him in. Rick Hendrick is a smart man n knew what he was doing going after Junior!! Look forward to a very interesting season in 08!! I bet Senior is smiling on his son for being his own man, just like he taught him!!

Mostly for Jr, but Truex still drives for DEI so that's going to be kind of rough. And damn Clint L. you're really clueless aren't you? The Earnhardt's connections to HMS go back even further than Sr's connection with Richard Childress. Case in point Jr and Tony Eury Jr's grandfather was one of the first employees of HMS. Oh yeah, one more thing HMS's first NASCAR win was a Busch Series win in a car driven by Dale Sr, who happened to regard Rick Hendrick as a friend. Sr's looking at the state of DEI at the moment and shaking his head at what it's become.

Mark Martin in the #8 DEI ride? How can that not be a big story? If Mark runs well in that car, what excuse will be made for Dale? I am looking forward to the moment when the #8 and the #88 are side by side on the race track.

No, and that i don't think of human beings utilising the "animosity" card are catching the "chook" perfect. DEI isn't thoroughly as a lot as this factor as of yet. they're suffering all around the board and by no skill merely contained in the standings. Jobs being shuffled, drivers being tossed decrease than universal kit. except the powers that be at DEI get some head wind and shortly, i imagine the "ones" runnin' it, are gonna run it into the floor. so so some distance as Dale getting what he "needed or needs" for his temperment and his style utilising, it wasn't coming from DEI and wouldn't have.

I will root for Jr. no matter where he goes. However, I will also cheer on Martin Truex Jr. and hope he does well in 2008. I am not a big Mark Martin fan, but I like and respect him on the race track and wish him well next year too. It's just a shame things couldn't have worked out differently. His dad started the company and it should now be run by an Earnhardt who is knowledgeable of ALL aspects of racing.

Although I was team player in all sports I participated in, when it comes to the sport of racing, teams were never my chief interest. Just the drivers.
A lot of teams my drivers raced for also had drivers I didn't pull for: pulled for Earnhardt at RCR but couldn't stand Skinner.
I hope DEI survives but the only reasons DEI got any money of mine are gone.
That money will flow again when there is 1) an Earnhardt at the wheel and winning races or 2) a real Earnhardt at the helm of the company.
Junior, win or lose, is where my loyalty resides. That's the type of loyalty Senior engendered and the same loyalty he would wish for his kid.
Owners? As long as the owner provides cars which my driver can use to compete, finish and win, and it doesn't necessarily have to be the best equipment money can buy, will do nicely. Failing that, all owners can kiss my bright white butt.
I will not be an HMS fan, but if Hendrick delivers, he alone will advance by a small measure of appreciation.
Lifelong Earnhardt (the racers) fan.
