Oh, it's time for the talk. Well, penguin, when a donkey really loves a horse and they get married, he whispers sweet nothings in her ear....and a couple of months later a mule is born!

Yes. Because they are so much alike, the horse would trust the donkey a lot more than people. The mouth, lips and throat of a Donkey are similar to a Horse and so he could make much more similar Horse noises than people could.
However, the donkey probably speaks Horse with quite a heavy donkey accent.
They could probably talk about all the fat lazy people who rode them the last week or so. Or about where the best hay is at in the barn, Or about good looking girl horses or donkeys. Or about their shiny new shoes. Stuff like that.

I think 1st we have to establish that donkey can't talk (Shrek is made up- it's hard to believe but it's true lol). So there really is no need for the question. If there was a talking donkey, I think it'd spend most of it's life in a lab being test for research (sadly). Sorry 4 bursting ur bubble! :-P

no, donkeys speak a different language. For a correct translation, you need a mule or a giraffe.
