I don’t mean to be ageist, but surely lunch times are for the workers? They get in the way with their trolleys, tut at you when you rush past…we have a one hour window, surely we should have more space! They can shop anytime…but you can guarantee they will use their bank card to pay for 3 oranges and a tin of soup!

I have to disagree with you.
And you are certainly an ageist, whether you mean it or not.

What is your point? Is not a pensioners money as good as your own? Perhaps the unemployed should only be allowed to shop before 9:30 or after 6. Oh Immigrants should only be allowed to shop and buy time expired food after 21:30. We can of course go on and exclude Scots who must only shop on Sundays or the Welsh who must shop in tens are forming a choir and the Irish Oh well the Irish they take no notice anyway so what the hell

Just wait till you're 60+, as some other answerers have commented on. Who, also, would precisely implement the policies you're advocating? Could you not also be busted for being 49 and buying 12 cloves of garlic a time? You were given birth by, presumably, a Mum and Dad, a few years older than you then, so could you please not waste eveyone's time on here by posting fake questions that have no other objective than to promote outdated ageist stereotypes.

Surely out of respect to the wiser people in your city you should change your lunch time. Why do you shop in your one hour lunchtime. Shop after work. Or at weekends. As you get older my friend you will get wiser. But it may be some time yet. Meantime try to stop your anger. It only makes you look silly.

Well, I'm sure you enlightened people would call me an 'oldie'.
I don't shop in the lunchhour because I don't like queueing in crowded shops. I agree with you that it is easier all round if I do not.
As for one answerer who thinks that we should stay off the roads during the peak periods, how would I get to my son's house in time to babysit before he and his wife leave for work? I also do voluntary work in a school, supporting poor readers, should I not be doing this either?

Anyone over thirty years of age should not be served in shops between 12 - 1pm. This is when the people who matter in society need to deal with essential matters before they resume the business of this country.
Another good thing would be to ban mums with kids in 4x4's between 8 - 9am.
Also pensions on those scooters on the pavement.

You don't mean to be ageist - but you are all the same. Yes, the older the are the slower you'll get.
But they also have as much right to go out shopping when they want, how they want and - having had a full working life - are entitled to enjoy to it.
We (Because I sometimes feel as frustrated as yourself sometimes) need to slow down a bit in life ourselves.

sigh. I know what you mean. And it seems like they always stand in the middle of the aisle so no one else can walk past. in the u.s. now we have "self check out stations". they try to use them when they don't know how, when these are clearly for the rushed, hurried people who know how to operate them. then when you finally purchase your items, you get behind one on the road going 20 miles an hour under the limit. then they complain about being "bored" to guilty you into coming to see them more than the 2 hours a day you already do!!!! i guess i have issues.
