Where? How old is the car? Is it full coverage on a new car, or minimum coverage on an old car?
There's no "average". Or rather, if I had to guess, it's between $900 a year for minimum liabiltiy only in the boonies with a 10 year old car, to $25,000 for full coverage in the city for a brand new corvette.
You'll have to call your agent and ask for a quote.

There's a whole lot of factors involved in determining the cost of insurance, but under the best of circumstances it would probably cost you about $600-800 per year. That assumes you drive an older model vehicle, are a good student, have no traffic tickets on record, are a supplement to your parent's insurance instead of having your own policy, and have a year or two of driving experience via instructional permit. Change any of those factors and the cost will increase.

Very expensive for a teenage male, less for teenage females. If you can, maybe you could be the occasional driver on a car, otherwise you will be paying $3000 big ones each year., thats without registration.

If at all possible you should get together with your parent/gardian to get a lower rate. It all depends on what you drive, Some insurance companies will give you lower rates if you can prove that you get good grades in school.

My son`s was $1260.00 every six months and he was on our insurance. If he would have gone it alone it would have been$1788.00 every six months.
That was when he was 17. It has gone down almost $100. every year. He will be 21 and the insurance co said that is when it
will go down more.
