a passionate or overmastering desire or craving (usually fol. by for): a lust for power
ardent enthusiasm; zest; relish: an enviable lust for life
Obsolete-pleasure or delight--desire; inclination; wish

Synonyms:crave, hunger, covet, yearn

Yes, you are right...attraction is necessary for two people to establish a relationship, and I would never advise two people to get into a relationship if there is no attraction there.
However, attraction is not the same as lust.
You may look at a woman or a man, and think they are pretty or handsome or attractive...but lusting would be using the beauty God gave them for your own pleasures whether it be in your mind, your thoughts, or through impure actions with yourself.
You see, lust is a selfish thing and it focuses only on you. God didn't teach us to lust, he taught us to do the exact opposite, which is to love, as He has loved us. Love is selfless and all giving, whereas lust is selfish and doesn't give, but only looks out for your own pleasures and satisfaction.
There is a difference.

Well i guess you can lust over someone but it up to the person to have some self-restrain to see past the lust and see if it the right person to start a relationship. Relationships that start of with lust sometimes go very badly. So I guess the moral of the story is regardless of how meeting that person was or felt like the best thing to do is view the person from all angles before you develop a relationship or do anything with the person..

The difference between attraction and lust has to be understood in their proper perspective before seeking an answer to this question.Imbedding with your properly, legally married spouse has never been a sin. Here lust is also involved Establishing a relationship outside the parameters of marital status has always been a sin in almost all religions of the world. There has to be no confusion between the two positions.

Lust is only a sin if you buy into that whole religious thing. Otherwise it's just a normal human feeling. Instead of worrying about the good stuff, why not just jetison the crap?

It's quite possible to fall in love WITHOUT lust ... and most people equate 'lust' with 'love' which makes relationships that are based on lust, not love, more common. My husband and I were best friends, who discussed 'exploring the romantic path' together ... when he decided he loved me, he forgot to tell me, so I didn't even know until the next day, when we did the one thing he said he'd never do except with his 'one and only one woman.' We are still in love and are coming up on our 11th anniversary. We do not have sex (many medical problems, plus it's messy and we are both Virgo), but we are far more intimate than couples who have sex every night. We TALK about everything, and we are still best friends, as well as being partners, playmates and LOVERS. Yes, we are still lovers, without sex, and we will both be 'totally faithful' until we are both dead ...

There are more substantial things to establish a relationship on. Lust is lust. It isn't love. It isn't a relationship. It isn't desire.

whoever said Lust was sin. IF lust is a sin... why are the girls coming in such sexy dresses trying make you lust them. and why did Adam go behind Eve? Don't tell me it is love because when there is only you and a woman alone in a garden and she is nude... love is not a feeling either would get.

Yes, you should be attracted to a person in order to pursue a relationship with her!
ATTRACTION: a quality or charm about that person that entices you; makes you like them/have feelings for them.
LUST: intense sexual desire; You want nothing more than a physical relationship or that's all you're thinking about.
Beauty should be on the within... Not just pleasing to the eye & your body. It's okay to want to be intimate with someone... It's a sin to commit fornication (sex b/t 2 unmarried ppl), adultery, lying, cheating, stealing! No one is perfect, just DO RIGHT BY HER!!!!

The attaraction between man and woman is natural but transitory in its scope on the other side the social discipline is an unavoidable must ;the voilation of this discipline has extreme consequences.Say it is crucial to satisfy the hunger but it does justify to take food by any means. The primary and only purpose of relationship is further the growth of human specy not to satisy lust.Lust is nothing but pervertion not natural instinct as such and punishable.
