oh for Utopia, yes you are right borders are man made and that is true. man did travel for thousands of years before the first city state started on this idea of national idea. its my opinion that man was done if for money and power and we have let his descendants away with it without question for five thousand years are so. time for a change i say. pity do you do need the passport and contrary to the ideas of some nations are not there to protect people they are there for economic reasons and for that reason only. you pay for your passport and if you want to get to some country you need to pay for a visa. they can refuse you entry. OK its a little better than it was a few centuries ago. Marco polo had no passport are visa on his travels. he would have trouble today getting into a lot of countries as he spent some time in Jail. something the non immigration lot seem to forget. none of the men and women who set out on voyages of discovery had visa's to enter countries. mainly because they didn't know what was there are where they were. could you imagine Vasco De Gama and the hassle he would have today if he was setting out this week on a voyage of discovery. it would be so expensive and all to organize. look at anyone today plan a world trip. the hassle of going to different embassies before you set out. Polo and all were adventurers and now we have become a race of controlled beings on this earth to make money for men who don't give to hoots about us only the gold in their bank vaults. Up the Utopian revolution its time it happened really

I'm a Canadian citizen and now to travel to the US, I need a passport, nevermind I have one because I've done some travelling before but I think it's important to keep track of people going in and out of every country.

I wouldnt want a terrorist (not that you can really tell, unless they are holding a bomb, gun or other form of detruction while crossing the border) entering the country. I would like the government to keep track of all criminal offenders coming and going too. For example, the sex offender registry, within the country, you want to know where they are at all times, each country needs to know when they are entering their country.

It's a way to keep us all safe and I'll take the extra time to get a passport, renew mine, and wait in line while a border official/immigration officer checks my records because I have nothing to hide. And if you do have something to hide, don't travel!

Ideally, you are correct. Realistically, you do need a passport to go from one country to another. While God may have created the Earth, Man has created nations and international relations, making a passport a necessity.

No you don't, A passport is a travel document issued by a national government that identifies a person, and permitted to enter and pass through other countries.

No, it is to keep track of who can and cant go in and out of a country. It is for security measures. What do passports harm anyways that would make you not like them? Unless you did something wrong and now can not be issued one, then you need to stay in the country!

I question the premise that God made the world, but that aside, I would like it if the world were as you suggest. It is not. Countries have to protect the security of their citizens and part of that is identifying the murderers and drug dealers that want to cross their borders.

Sure, the US is doing a lousy job of it for the past few decades, but the principle has to remain intact for the future where by popular demand the borders will be secured.

In fact, the major reason for the federal government is specified in reason our forebears wrote the Constitution, to "establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity."

You can hardly do any of the above if you have terrorists, drug dealers, killers and rapists wandering at will across your borders.

If we didn't have to worry about some of people coming into our countries, that'd be great. I look forward to that utopian existence. Unfortunately, I think in order to actually see it, I will have to look forward a few thousand years.

No I don't think you are right. There are different countries on this planet earth and these countries have the right to know who is coming into their country. I'd like to think that with a secure border we could limit how many felons are crossing our borders.

NOPE!!!!!!!! The Point of Passports is to keep track of who is entering and leaving what countires and if they are criminals or wanted for any reason....Not that it is working 100%..but could you imagine not having it...
