You can substitute a little water for the milk in the eggs and use vegetable, or even olive oil instead of butter. It will not be as rich, but at least you get your french toast.

You can use just eggs.. I like to add a bit of vanilla to the eggs and cinnamon.. To give extra flavor... You can even thin the eggs out with a tiny bit of water... You won't notice much of a difference.. I've even used orange rind/orange juice in place of the milk for a citrus taste that was really quite nice... Good luck

Ummm, go to the store and get some? Sorry, just kidding, I ran into the same issue last week. My fiance recomended using a bit of water instead. I'm too traditional and stubborn so I skipped it and made scrambled eggs and toast instead.

Use sour cream to the eggs in place of milk. Use a little cooking oil in the pan instead of butter.

Do you have any powdered coffee creamer? Mix equal parts of creamer and hot water to substitute the milk. You can use bacon drippings, Pam spray, or a little vegetable oil to cook it in. I always keep a jar of creamer on had for just that purpose. You can also add it to mashed potatoes (dry) to thicken them up if you have added a little to much milk.

If you have some creamer you could substitute that adding a touch of water along with it. If you don't, then just add a bit of water to your eggs and a splash of vanilla. Warm up your syrup a bit and you'll still have tasty french toast!
