And also I was wondering if anyone knows a good brand for down alternative comforters. I'm allergic to down, not that I would use it anyway, but I would like some ideas of who has down alternative comforters. Thanks in advance!

The more thread count the better the sheets! I like to buy Egyptian cotton ones from T J Max. I got a really nice atlernative down comfortor at JC Penney's. They have them on sale for half price sometimes.

I love getting good quality sheets.. They ARE more expensive but will last longer and are heavier. I have a set of 1000 thread count/egyptian cotton sheets from BJ's wholesale that were a great deal ! $100 for the complete set ! Woolrich makes a really great down alternative comforter... You don't get too hot or too cold.. It's great just spring for the duvet cover so it doesn't get dirty although, I do wash mine in the regular washer machine with no problems. You can purchase the woolrich alternative down comforters at TARGET. Ours was approximately $70-$80 about 3 yrs. ago. It's a Queen size.. I would recommend getting one size bigger then your actual bed... Then you won't "fight" over it at night ! good luck

1st thread counts can be deceiving it is supposed to be the #of times the threads cross in a square inch of fabric meaning the higher the count the denser the fabric but some companies cheat and elevate the # by using the strand count in each thread .2nd there are many good quality hypoallergenic comforters on the market pick the best one you can afford (a good company to try is linensource.com)
