If you follow the God paradigm, then yes, that would be correct.

Well since you need a womb for cloning, I do not think the surrogate would allow that to happen. When a child is growing inside you, something happens. You fall completely in love. I didn't even want kids until I got pregnant.
I'm not sure about the abiogenesis or artificial intelligence.

That's a big can of worms, isn't it?
I'd say no. If you "create" life by owning livestock and breeding them, there are still guidlines you need to follow on their treatment or you will get into trouble. The stickler is when, and how intelligent does a "creation" have to be before it moves from property to an individual. Animals are property, if you clone yourself, is that clone your property as an animal or is it a seperate person with it's own rights, like a child? And if you do/ can clone yourself, can you alter the genetic code to make the clone different? Make it less/ more intelligent, stronger, faster, etc.. These questions need answers, you won't find them here. The time for their answers is approaching, I worry for the future if our leaders show the same amount of shortsighteness and belligerence as today.

"How can it not know what it is?!"
Many science fiction stories have explored this questions. My favorite, Blade Runner (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) expressed the idea that we will do with artificially engineered life forms as we will, for a while, until they become sophisticated enough to make us question their feelings.
Does a virus deserve pity? Prolly not.
How about an engineered breed of dog? Maybe.
A cloned dinosaur? Expensive and delicate; definitely a pet.
A cloned arm, sans body? No, but getting weird.
A whole body where the brain has been purposefully stunted? Really, really weird.
A cloned copy of yourself, with brain but no mind? I am not sure.
A cloned copy of yourself, with memory implants to believe that it is you? Scares the heck out of me.
We will learn as we go. It will not be easy. We will have to grow and change, socially. Hopefully it will be a slow process to get us to the point where we really have to decide.

That's a very thorny question! I doubt whether we will be able to decide it until it actually happens, and there will always be disagreements. Look at the continuing controversy about experimentation on animals.

Humans would be wise to knock off free will from the 'created' lives. They would have to obey without questioning.
Or else we would face the same problem that God is facing.

clones will probably be used for wars too!! But it is inevitable that they will turn on us if they get mistreated, they are clones of beings with free will after all!

It doesn't matter who created a living thing, the living thing stil has feelings.
If you ask such a question, my guess is, you don't really understand why "torture" is bad. Let me tell you, it's bad because it makes one suffer, not because it sais in a book that it's wrong

It seems that we will, regardless.
Most likely, if we clone humans, many will be used in place of lab rats to test cures for specific diseases. Clones will almost certainly be viewed as expendable.

Of course not, if an AI passes a certain threshold it would be as human as you and me.

I "created" 2 kids, but I can't do that to them.
Is it okay to have retarded slaves? After all, they wouldn't know enough to be upset by it...
