Some states have law against brothers and sisters sharing rooms once they hit puberty levels (which varies from 9-12 these days) however they wont take your kids away over it. So yes, the anwser to your question is it okay to let a 3 and 5 year old share a room... Just hopefully they get along!! :)

No, this age is fine to share. it may be when they get a bit older that theydon't want to as they start to become more shy in front of other people. My son & daughter shared until my son was 8 then he wanted to be on his own.
Good luck with the twins. I'd add, move them now so they are used to it before the babies come along.
I have 5 kids. My son is on his own, my oldest 2 daughters (9 & 7) share and my youngest 2 daughters (5 & 3) share. They love it.

The law is that they can share a room until they are 10 for obvious reasons. But if this is only a temporary measure then I should suggest it is fine. My sister and I were 2 and 5 when we started sharing a room.

My girls have been sharing a room since the baby was able to sit up. They are now 2 and 5. So they should be fine. We're hoping to buy a 3 bedroomed house and as they are now, the girls are refusing to have separate bedrooms!
Good luck with the twins

When I was 3, I shared a room with my brother who was almost 6. I think it actually made us bond more.

It is never too soon or too late. We just put our daughters in the same room...they get along well and like the company. I think at any age bed time is sometimes problematic, whether they are in their own rooms (I don't want to be alone) or together (one wants the light on, one wants it off, one is ready for sleep, the other wants to talk, one wants music, the other wants quiet.)
We have the younger one in our room until one of them goes to sleep, then move her to her own bed. No one's alone and everyone's happy.

Not at all. my boys share their room even though we have an additional spare room. The only catch is one when wakes up in the am they both wake up. Its good for them as they will spend the majority of their lives apart.

I think that would be fine. Leave the hall light on if they seem scared. But don't talk about it much or they will think they should be scared and you will have to deal with that.
