1. I entered the bar, was inside for 2 mins, none of my friends were there, so I l turned right back around, got in the vehicle and left. 0 alcohol
2. After driving more than three miles I am pulled over by an officer that I recognized, but did not recognize me at first.
3. He rudley told me to get out of the vehicle, and gave me the 'pen' test. As I told him who I was and who my family was (can't blame me for that, the guy was treating me like crap).
4. He got even angrier and had me Call someone to come get me.
5. SO, if he suspected I was drunk driving as I walked from the bar to my vehicle, why not stop me as soon as I hit the public road, not 3 miles down the road where a legitmate drunk driver could potentialy hit somebody and kill them while the polive officer watched?

Three miles is an exceptionally long distance to follow a suspected DUI driver. If I didn't notice something immediately, they weren't stopped.

There are several reasons why the stop could have been delayed. You or your m/v could have been reported as suspect drink driver and he was waiting for checks to come back. He was monitoring your driving to see if it was questionable. He was waiting for a suitable location to pull you over.
Stop whinging, this same cop could possibly be stopping the drunk who could wipe you or somebody else out.
If you were not drunk, fair enough, co operate and the experience will be over quicker and the cop can get back to finding ppl who are drunk or committing crime.

PS Is there such a thing as a legitimate drink driver?

PPS You also sound as if you failed the (non existant) attitude test. It sounds pathetic when ppl start bleating "Do you know who I am!".

Had you had a drink before attending the bar?

Leaving a bar, in and of itself is not probable cause enough to pull you over. In this case, the officer was following you and looking for a reasonable cause. It isn't fair, but probably would be considered reasonable. The officer would have to have some sort of reasonable cause if questioned on the matter and suspicion of DUI would probably suffice, especially since you were neither ticketed or detained.
