The amount could be excessive but it all depends on geography, is the room in New York if so 450 is a deal if the room is in Iowa then its real high but either way how is it your business?

Unless there is more to the story there is really no big deal. $450.00 in most of the country is about right for a room if it includes utilitities. And when I was younger and single I would gladly pay a tad extra for that kind of place. It was better to rent a room in a quiet place rather than have 3 roomates that party.

She just bought a house so renting out a room is a normal thing to do. If he is a cab driver the arrangment is probably even better. He is probably working off hours as opposed to a 9 to 5 person.

Even if there was hanky panky that is her business as an adult. There is nothing to be dumbfounded about.
