I will have to toe the line here and say that I've been brought to heel by this sort of arch question before. I will not march instep with the others.

animals have spirits but not souls - they are not moral beings but can be domesticated and as my dog shows, they know right from wrong. The domestic ones which have had a chance to know what it is like to be loved and valued as friends will I believe be part of the restored Kingdom in the new earth because they somehow are touched by the Grace of God through man. I have no Biblical basis for saying this
but it is how I feel.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Well yes, they have soles if you consider the pads of their feet to be soles. But, since I believe you just made a typo, I'll also answer yes, I believe they have souls too. In fact, I know they do. When I was a kid I had a cat that I just absolutely loved. One night after I went to bed (I wasn't asleep yet), I heard this eerie meowing--not like a normal cat meowing--it was kind of hollow and echoey. I went to the door and called my cat by name but he didn't come. My grandmother told me I was dreaming but I knew I wasn't because I was still awake. I told her that something happened, that he needed me and was calling me to help him. But she made me go back to bed. This happened three times (it was about 1:00 in the morning). The next day while I was at my friend's house playing, my cousins came and told me that they found my cat at the edge of the canyon; someone had shot him with a BB gun. I knew then that the meowing I heard was my cat letting me know that he had been hurt.

Animals do not have souls...but some do have soles

Yes. On the bottoms of their feet.

But if you meant souls -- I believe that any of the animals that are capable of joy have souls. Dogs, for instance.
