Effects would vary depending on the amount of an antihistamine taken and the extent of such "minor overdose".
Generally, any of the following common effects may be experienced: Dizziness or drowsiness, headache, fatigue, nervousness, fast heart beats, dry mouth and thirst, irritability, nausea and vomiting, sweating. Some palpitation, muscle weakness and some degree of difficulty of breathing may be experienced depending on the degree of an overdose.
OK, estimating the the "minor overdose" could mean differently and someone can have different effects. As a general clue of effects of an antihistamine overdose, remember this mnemonic:
"Dry as a bone, red as a beet, hot as a hare, mad as a hatter, and blind as a bat."
That summarizes the classic combination of central and peripheral anticholinergic effects of antihistamine overdose or poisoning. The severity of the effects can then be estimated on the severity of the overdose.
Be careful though as any drugs can affect every individual differently, thus what you consider as a minor overdose can possibly be harmful if not fatal. Anyone who has taken an overdose of anything should seek medical treatment at once.

An overdose of any medication is not wise. However a "minor" overdose of antihistamine would probably not cause too much of a problem. But bear in mind that antihistamine, even when used within the prescribed dosage, causes drowsiness and therefore the inability to safely drive or operate machinery. Be very careful!

With or with out allergies, the side effects are the same, possible racing heart, scalp tining tingling, skin crawling feeling. Sleepiness, shortness of breath, insomnia, dry mouth. constipation. Racing thoughts. It won't matter if there is allergies or not the side effect are the same. Check Web MD for a full range of side effects, and warnings on possible overdose. The feelings are not pleasant so if your wanting to get a buzz, don't try using antihistamines or cold products.
