Most hospitals have times you can volunteer, you can work in therapy to the front desk to arts and crafts to play a guitar and singing. Also nursing homes are a great place to volunteer because a lot of patients don't get visits on a relular basis and they get lonely and you can come in and cheer them up, just remember to ware a big smile and help them forget where they are at for a while. One of the most rewarding to me is the humane society I go out and walk dogs atleast 3 times a week to help train them so they will be more adoptable. But nothing to me says thankyou more than those smiling eyes and the wagging tails in the winter when it is too cold sitting on the floor in the cat room with a good book and a blanket makes it nice for the cats to be able to snuggle up for a little while with a actual warm body their purring says thank you very much-Its a great place to donate some time. . .

There is no one answer to this. It depends on the student's interests, skills, transportation options and availability. A student should find something that is in support of a cause he or she believes in or that will provide an opportunity he or she really wants to do, that is appropriate for his or her skill level, that he or she can get to and that he or she has time for outside of school hours.

You go to Public Libraries and I am sure, you can be a volunteer there in assisting the librarians.
