i work in insurance claims in australia, you really need to provide a better accident description - ie, were you on a dual carriageway driving in the same direction, were you at a junction, was anyone signalling turning intentions etc etc.

more often than not, the old "you can only do a u-turn when safe to do so" will come into play. meaning that if someone has done a u-turn which is in the path of an oncoming vehicle and those two vehicles collide, then the u-turner is at fault. check the australian road rules (google it - it's online somewhere) and look up the rules in relation to u-turns.

Driving in the US is a bit different from driving in Australia. But if this other driver just cut in front of you like that, I would say the other driver is at fault.

the other drivers fault if u were just driving along and all of a sudden he pulls a u-turn,its his/her fault!
