hair in wings?

Can someone explain me me what it means to have one's hair in wings or wings hairstyle or something? Thanks!

Frenchie, to get wings, you part hair down the middle or to the side, then use your blow dryer to roll the hair framing your face on both sides of the part with a round brush or curling iron. Farrah Faucet had this signature look during the Charlies Angels series.

edit: You would roll your hair away from your face.
