Jehovah's Witnesses believed there is only one true God and that is Jehovah the Father. However, because of their belief that Jesus is a Mighty God that makes their belief more complicated because there will be two true Gods already. Jehovah's Witnesses always evade this question by saying "I believe Jesus is a Mighty God." Yes, Satan, human judges, belly, and angels are called "gods" but they are not true Gods. And besides, Paul himself said, "For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), YET FOR US THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is BUT ONE LORD, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live." (1Co 8:5-6)

There are those people (unbelievers) who believes in their minds in so-called "gods" and "lords" but for the real Christians there is BUT ONE GOD. For the Jehovah's Witnesses there are MORE THAN TWO GODS. How come?

To MARIAH: If you are going to talk about Jehovah's Witnesses, at least have your facts straight. We are most definitely NOT a cult. & we Do acknowledge that Satan the Devil is very much real. He is the god of this system of things. When people worship something it becomes a god, whether that's satan, Jesus, britney spears, a necklace or a shoe. However, it in no way makes it/them the TRUE God. That is ONLY Jehovah.

Also, Jesus Christ is the son of Jehovah, the true and almighty God. This is should be obvious if you read the bible!

*Please don't mistake my tone as being disrespectful, it isn't not mean't that way at all, I am simply stating the facts.

JW's copy and paste from their web site, so you will get the same answer from every one of them. They will ignore the question, in that if there is one true God all others must be false. It is true that the Bible speaks of others as gods, but it is always as false gods, which do not exist or things, like Satan, who make themselves to be gods. Jesus however said, "I am the First and the Last." The first and last what? GOD!!! I can show you several verses in scripture that declare the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. JW's have a 2 page explanation for every verse that says He is Deity. They are under the impression that the Devil defeated Christianity for 1800 years then Charles Taze Russel found the "truth." If you read the Bible without outside influences you will come away knowing that it plainly teaches that Jesus Christ is the one True God.

Well christians(Jehovah's witnesses are a cult, not christians) belive god is triune(three in one) which is father, son, and holy spirit, but they're all one god just in 3 parts. The Jehovah's Witnesses do not belive in triune. They also do not belive that Satan is real. They belive Jesus(or whom they call "Micheal the arc angel") was born a perfect man, but only a man until he was baptized.
I'm not tottaly sure how come even though I was one but am not any more. They just really messed with the bible alot just because some guy thought he saw a vision about this.

The heavens is a monarchy like government.

Jehovah is king and Jesus is the foremost prince among every other heavenly creature. Because of Jesus obedience he was exalted to Mighty God status so he may sit on the throne.

Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.

Jehovah's Witnesses show obedience to Christ when he became King but as per Jesus instructions we are to give Jehovah God sacred service and worship.

Dear Justyn,

Teaching about multiple gods makes the Watchtower witnesses polytheists.

There is a really good chart to help you sort out just who is Who. It is One Truth Exposes a Thousand Lies - Traits Shared Between Jehovah and Jesus at http://www.soulright.com

As one person said "I'd say that's a suspiciously high number of qualities that Jehovah and Jesus share. And since Jehovah God will not share His glory with anyone (Isaiah 42:8) it seems odd that the two have the same characteristics through and through."

Edit:
As the Holy Spirit reminded me this morning,
a chain is ONLY as strong as its weakest link.
If Jesus the Christ were not
FULLY God
and
FULLY Man
then we are still dead in our sins and
eternally separated from the Author of Life.

To talk about whether Jesus is a "mighty" God
or a "true" god is just a tactic of the devil to
keep us from the LIGHT.

For His glory,
JOYfilled

Jesus is a god (compared to us) but he isn't THE God. Jehovah is The True God. Jehovah is the Father, he created all things. In our bible at John 14:28- YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.

Also in Phillipians 2:5-11 says: Keep this mental attitude in YOU that was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although he was existing in God’s form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God. 7 No, but he emptied himself and took a slave’s form and came to be in the likeness of men. 8 More than that, when he found himself in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient as far as death, yes, death on a torture stake. 9 For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, 10 so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, 11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father

Satan is call 'the God' of this system of things.

Since Satan wants worship, then he is a false God.

The judges of Israel are called gods in Ps 82:6, but since they are not wanting to be worshiped, then they are not false gods, nor are they true gods.

They are what the literal definite of the word god means.

Mighty ones.

Is Jesus a mighty one? Yes

Is Jesus the Almighty one? NO.

Does calling the angel of Jehovah God at Judges 13:21, 22,

Make this angel a false God? NO,

Just a mighty one in the service of the one true God, Jehovah.

Jesus is a mighty one in the service of his God, Jehovah.
(Rev 1:1, 6)

Hi! You can't really understand the mystery of God, not unless the Holy Spirit reveals it to you.. Why?? Because "great is the mystery of God" (1 Timothy 3:16)
No matter how you do if God will not give to you, you will never understand. So ask for God's wisdom first (James 1:5), as Jesus said on Matthew 13:10-13 "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear and so can't understand the secrets of the kingdom of heaven".

Visit this site and know the mystery of God. Post your comments and we'll help you out answer your questions. God bless.

You're obviously confused. ( I say this based on your previous questions about Jehovah's Witnesses )

We believe that Jehovah is the only true God, not Jesus Christ.

Jesus was called Mighty God because if his Messianic rule. Also, Jesus didn't receive the titles in Isaiah 9:6 until after he came to Earth. Note that it says that Jesus will be called these title, not is.

The only Scripture which refers to "the only true God" makes it incredibly obvious that Jesus is a person distinct from "the only true God"!

(John 17:3) This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

Since Jesus (the Son) was "sent forth" on an assignment from "the only true God", the two cannot be the same person. Interestingly, the verse even teaches that God is superior to Jesus (since Jesus the Son directs prayer to and performs the work assigned by God the Father).

Meanwhile, it is sad when anti-Witnesses imply that Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus to be "false".

None of the Scriptures which have been translated to refer to Jehovah as "true" actually uses a term which is strictly an antonym of "false". Instead, in both Hebrew and Greek the terms convey the sense of being an "absolute" or "genuine" god in comparison with other so-called "gods". Almighty Jehovah has no peer among so-called "gods" such as Baal and Molech, Zeus and Jupiter.

Interestingly, the Scriptures nine times refer to Jehovah as "the true Lord". Yet the word "lord" is used dozens of times in reference to kings, dignitaries, masters, angels, and (of course) Jesus Christ. Would this questioner pretend that all of these "lords" must be "false" or else also be part of a single mysterious multi-personalitied "true Lord"?
