I like a garlic citrus marinade like this one, it's so delicious and great on all meats, even pork.
1 cup orange juice (any kind)
2 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1-2 cloves crushed garlic (depending on the size and how strong you like it)
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
I marinade meat at least an hour depending on the size of the meat, or you can marinade up to 6 hours. I prefer not to marinade overnight because the marinade is very acidic and can break down thin cut meats a little too much.
Enjoy!

Ingredients
1/2 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
1/4 cup Honey
Directions
For every batch you want to make, it's a ratio of 1/2 cup Heinze 57 sauce to 1/4 cup honey.
Mix them together
Pour them over chicken, thighs, legs, breasts, tenders, wings, whatever
Grill or bake chicken accordingly...internal temp for safety is 160 degrees
-----------------------------
Ingredients
1/2 cup soy sauce (I use low sodium-more subtle flavor)

1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp garlic (I typically use more, just my taste)
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions
Mix all ingredients together, put marinade and chicken into a large ziploc bag and refridgerate over night. Take out and cook!
----------------------
Ingredients
2 tbspn fresh grated ginger root
1 clove minced garlic
2 tbspn honey
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sherry
Directions
In a medium bowl, mix together all of the ingredients.

As said, Italian dressing is a good stand-by all the time. Another one I like, which for your purposes would probably be better for chicken than beef (also DELICIOUS with fish) is:
Mix equal parts soy sauce and dijon mustard, and splash in some vinegar...voila!

my personal favorite:
1 part sweet vermouth
1 part oil (olive or peanut)
1/4 part lime juice
1/4 part soy sauce
crushed garlic clove (one per steak or breast)
Pinch of rosemary for chicken marinade or
Pinch of cumin for beef marinade
Marinate in baggie with all the air squeezed out in fridge until you are ready to cook it. You can use the leftover marinade to "baste" your meat.

I got tired of using zesty italian seasoning so I began to mess around with some asian flavors.
Sometimes I marinate beef and pork and chicken with some:
soy sauce
corn starch
sesame oil
And you can try mixing together:
oyster sauce
soy sauce
worchestshire sauce
Hope you enjoy :)
Its very easy.

i use this for chicken ham steak roast, you name it
1/4 c A1 steak sauce
1/4 c water
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons mrs dash
2 teaspoons garlic powder or salt, whatever you got
throw it in a ziplock bag and marinate overnight or 2 days if you got it. this is for 1pound of food, double for 2 pounds, so on.
make less spicy by adding more water, this really isn't that spicy to begin with, i have to take zantac due to excessive acid so i know what not to eat spicy!!!
