Yes, I sure would be surprised!
I always thought that the Constitution was written by SEVERAL persons! I also thought that the primary author of the Bill of Rights (including the 1st Amendment) was James Madison, who was an Episcopalian.
So ... am I a history flunkee, is this a trick question, or both?

It might surprise you to know that the Constitution was written by more than just 2 people.

Deists believe God Got this all started, and then doesn't bother with the earth any more. Certainly not a Christian concept. I'd say 2/3 of the founding fathers were either Deists, Atheists, Masons, (which most Christians don't consider Christian, and who declare their highest concepts are "Luciferian") Unitarians (which most Christians don't accept as Christian) or even some Satanists. (Ben Franklin belonged to a Satanism Party Club)

What is your agenda? Who cares? The document was well thought out, well written, and with the exception of prohibition has stood up well for over 200 years. Most constitutions expire with the people who wrote them!

Not really. The origins of the United States was a common vision shared by a varied group of people, regardless of religion.

I'd be more surprised if it was written by a theist.
Its sad isn't it? America, a nation born out of the enlightenment, and now look at it. I think it had great potential and now its gonna take a lot of fixing.

It wouldn't surprise me based on the ideas it contains, but everything I've seen says Madison was an Episcopalian.

No, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm never surprised at what a man who wears a wig will do.

Christians believe that all governments were put in place by God (Romans).
I believe governments are made by people.
Betty Boop a Doop is a genius. I wonder if she worked for the Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, Berlin, 1937?...sounds..so...familiar...?

Prove it. Oh, that's right, according to members of the cult of bigotry and fundamentalist atheism, everyone who doesn't donate 100% of their income to an organized church is automatically an "atheist".
