The only verse is in 1 Corinthians where Paul says it is shameful for a man to have long hair. I was told this over and over because I always had long hair, still do but as a pagan, no one hassles me about it anymore.'I thought after the sixties were over long hair would not be an issue, but it still is after 40 years.
However if people use the verse in Corinthians to prove men should not wear long hair, then that same chapter can be used to show that women should not cut their hair, but boy bring that up and you will be run off. Paul says men should have short hair and women should not cut their hair but churches say men must have short hair but it is okay for women to cut their hair.
Go figure.
Just read all 15 chapters of 1 Corinthians you will find it very interesting.

The NEW testament is quite clear.
1 Corinthians:
13Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.
It goes on to say if anyone has a problem with the teaching, they have no other teaching.Of course, the length of Jesus' hair is never raised, those paintings showing a European version were painted a thousand years later.there is nothing to indicate Jesus looked at all like the common picture.Personally,I have long hair.If the creator of the universe has nothing better to do than worry if I don't cut my hair or my wife does cut hers, well, there is no use bothering with such an idiot. To the one talking about "wallowing"I assure you,I am cleaner with my body than you will ever hope to be.I can wash my hair and body with shampoo and soap, how do you wash the dirtiness you have INSIDE?

The Bible states it is a shame for a man to have long hair also does not even nature tell you that a man should not have long hair? Jesus would certainly not have had long hair as he is portrayed in this day and age. It was a shame then for a man to have long hair as well!

1 Corinthians 11 talks about this, suggesting that is just not natural and that a man should prays with his head covered such as with long hair.
1Cor11:4 "Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head."
I have a way around this admonition, I don't pray. Since I'm not a believer, it doesn't bother me.
Many years ago, a Pentecostal woman that I worked with used to rag on me about my long hair. When I said "judge not, lest ye be judged", she told me "Brother, you've already been judged by God".
This entire passage appears to be a fine example of why Christianity should be called "Paulianity". He wrote his own ideas and invented a religion about a God-man whom he never personally met. Don't let the Pentecostals or any Christian get you down with nitpicking rules. Your time will be better spent worrying about what's inside your head and your heart and not what's on the outside.

God is more interested in the heart whether it's evil or holy, as to the matter of hair, in the olden days men wore their hair long, and the Bible mentions Samson whose hair was let to grow, from my interpretation I don't think God had a problem with it.

Jesus is shown with long hair but I don't see any cigarettes or cigars or movie theaters or tattoos or woman in slacks either......
I could tolerate a man with long hair if he is a holy living man that is not wallowing in the pig pen worshiping the creature instead of the creator.....
The flesh will devour us yet.....Man is trying to fulfill the desires of the flesh and it can't be done.....
Man with man and woman with woman is not going to be a perfect set up either....there will be cheating just like the heterosexuals...just as many troubles....

my husband has long hair.. it makes a reference
of it being a shame, but if you read the rest
of the verses, it says" we have no customs
such as these". of course most people dont
read the whole chapter, they just pick out
a verse and go ....oopps there it is.
Besides, look at Gods very ELECT... the
jewish men you see praying at the wall in
jerusalem.. they all have long hair.

Samson--Judges 13-16.
Also, guys with long hair are hot.
But of course, there's the old joke...a dad tells his son to cut his hair or he can't drive the family car. Son says, "But Jesus had long hair!" and the dad replies, "And he walked everywhere he went."

You are in the image of God, but that image has NOTHING to do with hair length, color, texture or even amount.
If you're a guy and your girl likes you with long hair, then go for it!
