I believe in Jesus and I have seen changes in me lately as far as my mentality goes. But there are some things that are hard to let go - how can we do that? If we die with that one sin we didn't repent - do you think its fair to say we are thrown in the lake of fire? What are your opinions?

The reason the New Testament is full of passages about Grace is for people to know that it is the trying that matters. Those who sin willfully and then justify their actions by saying they are just saved sinners are not truly in God's will according to scripture.

Of course it is hard to live by the Word!

Even Jesus Christ, the very Son of God went through one trial and one tribulation after the next, only to be brutally crucified.

So if you think you're just going to walk through this whole thing unscathed, you're in for quite a surprise!

I'm a Christian, and I know for me that surrounding yourself with people of faith is critical. I grew so much faster when I got rid of secular friends, and having that little support network is key - because Earth is way too sinful to go at it alone.

It is obviously essential to repent of your sins as soon as you can, but I don't know about a time specific "deadline." If you did something wrong at say, 1:30pm and died in a tragic car accident at 1:45pm, and didn't repent because you weren't presented with an opportunity to pray, then that's probably different from someone who holds onto a sin and doesn't repent because he's unwilling.

Anyway, just some thoughts. God bless you!

Yes, and the main reason is that no god has written anything.

It's hard to read something written by an imaginary character, because that writing would also be imaginary.

Luckily for converts, it is easy enough for people to believe that some old text written by some zealots thousands of years ago is somehow divine, even if that text contradicts itself and contradicts what we know about the world.

Unfortunately, like you indicate, that belief in fictional god scripts does have a tragic downside. The fear of being separated from this imaginary character causes undue stress for many people, and others are tortured and die at the hands of converts trying to gain favor with their fairy.

LOL
The lake of fire is where hell and death are to be thrown.
If your god is a god of love would he punish you for ever ?
Looks like he will punish us all . How many people die before they get to confess?
Sounds like a new business Idea. Don't call the ambulance if injured & dieing call confession express ,drive in or take away.

You are required to do your best - Christ will make up the difference. It's really that simple. Of course, you can't "pull the wool over God's eyes", he knows your heart. But if you are doing your best and still falling short, that's expected... and believe me when I tell you, there is NOONE on this earth who can claim perfection.

Here's something else to keep in mind... Taking Christ as your personal savior is like painting a giant target on your chest for Satan and his minions. It's gets very difficult sometimes - but remember, those things that don't kill us only make us stronger.

Keep you chin up! You're not alone - He will always be there to prop you up.

We are forgiven of our past, present and future sins forever, sanctified once and for all and perfected forever when we confess faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior (Hebrews 10:10, 12,14). In other words when we are Christians God has forgiven us of our sins forever, knows us as having His righteiousness in Christ forever and accepts that we are perfect in Christ forever. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ we have accepted that Jesus Christ had paid the full price for all our sins on the cross and that God will no longer judge and punish us for all our sins. God in Hebrews 8:12 said that He will be merciful to our unrighteousness and our sins and lawless deeds He remembers no more. If Jesus had obtained forgiveness of sins forever and as a result God will not remember our sins where is the need for us to confess our sins every now and then? I believe 1 John 1:9 refers to our confession of sins when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and at that instance we are cleansed of all unrighteousness. I personally do not confess any sins. I repent by changing my mind about them and not doing them knowing that I have the abundance of grace and the gift of God's righteousness in Christ to overcome them (Romans 5:17). No you do not go to hell if you have not confess one sin because all your sins are forgiven forever when you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Christian's life is a life of rest in the complete finished work of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:9-11) by living by faith in grace and truth and not by works under the law of Moses (John 1:17). We fall out of the rest of God when we fall out of grace and truth into law and then it is hard to obey the law (the Old Covenant). I trust this is helpful to you. God bless you.

It is not hard to follow the word of God. Unfortunately religions and so called spiritual teachings that frighten us into submission make it very difficult to separate Spirituality and God with teachings that tell us follow all these millions of rules or go to hell. If you try to strip yourself of all the information that is programmed into us at a young and impressionable age, you will begin to realise that faith is your individual link to God. It is personal and if you have truly found the connection to him he will guide you through an intrinsic understanding of what is right and wrong. I felt that sometimes all the violence and negativity of all faiths clouded my ability to truly feel that connection with God because of all the niggling doubts that things just dont feel right. Go with your gut always. Goodluck on your spiritual journey.

A young Christian came up to an older Christian minister one day and confessed, "It is so hard to live this Christian life."

The older man said, "No, it is not hard. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE."

We can't do it! We can't live the life God wants us to! We must learn to throw our helpless hopeless sin-bound carcasses upon the throne of Grace and allow Jesus to live out HIS life within us!

The Christian life is a life-long commitment. Little by little, step by step God helps us give up the things that cling to us, helps us to truly repent, helps us to forsake sin, helps us to live the life.

don't get discouraged! God forgives as we confess our sins! God understands our weaknesses!

god bless

KS, We so accept the atonement are not under law but by faith made new in agreement with God's righteousness.
Christians are not perfect as we still live in this sinful world and are yet in our flesh.
We do not serve sin but we are not yet perfect.
