Tell him your flattered that he thinks your worth spending the rest of his life in jail for and tell him to have fun there....then turn your back and walk away....showing him he has no power over you and your choices.

Whatever you do, do not provoke him. This is a dangerous situation. Keep calm and be smart. Yes, a restraining order works to a point, but be prepared to call the police if you do that. You must remember you are the victim and he is a criminal. I would invest in a good small tape recorder and get him to repeat the threat on it. Make sure the tape is good and identify yourself and him by name so there is no confusion. Once you have him on tape and the sound is good, take that to the police, have him arrested for threatening you. Be sure to document any other times/ places/ witnesses to his threats or violent behavior to you. Be prepared to face him down in court. Now, this is difficult, but if you don't... your life could end. Just remember, he did the bad deed not you.

o my gosh, the same thing happened to me. This is what i did:
1. I asked his friends to ask about the situation, like i asked them to ask HIM, if he was serious or not!
2. I also asked them to talk him out of saying things like that.
3. Then, i avoided him as much as i could, and didn't answer his phone calls.
Those plans worked but if they don't for you then you need to tell somone you trust and have them help you take care of the situation
Above all Be safe and i know things will be ok.

Go get some help, a restraining order, go some where he can't find you. If it means that you have to pick up and move, then do it. It could mean you your life. Material possessions don't mean a thing if you aren't alive to use them.

this is tough. i just got out of a relationship like this, and you can too. just ignore him. he cant get you if you dont provoke him. secondly, change your cell/house phone numbers. and thirdly, alert your neighbors about him and tell them to keep watch if his car has been around. good luck, and im glad your not with him still!

Get a restraining order... and move. If he doesn't know where you are, he can't hurt you.
