oh honey, your freewill is a god-given gift. he wanted us to decide for ourselves because he respects us as his creation. what thrill would there be if we are created like puppets with God as our pepetteer? more often than not, our freewill leads us to disaster; more often than not, we hurt other people in the process, not to mention God. but he will understand those mistakes, and hopes for us to see the lesson there and learn. Talking about love... Love if you must if it makes you happy. if it makes you miserable and there's no way to go around it, love still; but always know your limitations.

Just because God CAN do something does not mean he will do it. I could force my teenage son to stay home tonight and play board games with the family rather then go out to the movie like he wants. But odds are neither of us would enjoy it.
"Free will" simply means that God has given man the ability to make his own moral decisions, and then to deal with the consequences of those decisions. So man can choose to love God, or not. But then he deals with the results (heaven or hell) of that decision.
Nothing in that takes away God ability to do anything. He simply choose not to use his ability to make us robots, but to use that same power to make us free moral agents instead.

Love under duress is not really love at all, so by definition love must be given freely or it is not love - it is something else entirely.
I think that is why God created us as free men with free will. So our love freely given would mean something to Him. God wanted us free. Free to love Him, worship Him, obey Him; and free to reject Him, deny Him, disobey Him.
A simple choice, a matter of life and death.

Just say no.
No means no. If this doesn't work and you are bothered by the god or his followers seek a restraining order.
